Question about Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 Notebook
Does this happen in eactly the same spot everytime? Do you see a red battery light on the laptop? Have you seen a blue screen flash? Is it actually turning off completely or is it rebooting (shuting down and coming back on)? If it is actually turning off and you don't have a problem with your power supply then it is most likely a motherboard problem. If you are getting a bluescreen it may be either your harddrive or a softwear issue. You can try reloading windows on it.

My guess would be: bad memory socket - blue screens, windows crashes, or ... shut downs. Try running the laptop with only one memory chip installed and see what happens. Your memory is located at the bottom: remove the big, square door with 2 screws and you'll see two sockets. If only one chip is installed try moving it to the other socket; if 2 chips are installed try removing one, then the other...
