Fin that tumbles clothing inside dryer coming loose, how can I tighten it?

These fins are usually screwed on from the outside of the drum. If you're up to it this is a simple but time consuming fix. Take the cabinet off the front of the dryer, the top will come off as well. be careful of the wires from the control console, they will stay attached to the dryer. Tighten the tumbler fins on the drum and then re-assemble the cabinet. Typically the screws you need to access are the same used for the door latch and hinges. They go back together easy ........

Fins inside drumare loose

Open the top ... held down with spring clips ... remove the front panel ... probably 2 to 4 screws ... be careful of the wires ... unplug the machine of course. Remove the drum ... but first observe the belt arrangement so you can reinstall. Tighten the 'fins'. Reverse the procedure.

You can use a pry or large screw driver to pop the top. Be careful of the finish.

Hi, We have a Neptune dryer that has lost all of its 3 fins.

yes this is to me, you have to take off the door, and panel, loose bolt that holds top to front panel and you will be able to turn the drum and reinstall baffles with screws, you may need to add a flat washer if the holes have stretched.

thanks

I have an LD9334 Dryer with a noise when the drum turns. One of the fins inside has a loose screw and is hitting the top as it goes around. Does the top of the dryer come up or do I have to fix from the...

I fixed mine it by opnening up the gray vent panel in the lower right corner on the rear of the dryer. By spinning the drum, I was able to loom inside with a flashlight and see the loose screws holding the loose baffle in place. I was then able to tighten it.

Loose Tumbler Fin In dryer

most maytag dryers have push type clips that hold the top to the front. look between the top and front with a light and find them about 3-4 inches from the outer edges. once you get the top up then there will be screws that hold the drum baffles to the drum. just put a new screw in them and all will be ok. no need to replace them, just use new screws.

Is my drum loose?

General reasons for a knock are that the belt is chunking out or one of the support rollers has cracked. If you can get inside, it will be obvious. I'm assuming you did check to see if there is anything that parked itself in one of the drum fins.
