Question about Televison & Video
Sony 46" videoscope color projection tv using antenna and digital box. Picture is normal, good quality most of the time. Picture will be normal, then screen will suddenly go black with snow accompanied with static noise sound. If left alone after a while the picture will pop back on. I have checked all of the cables and connections for shorts or looseness. Moving the connections and cables I am not able to cause the picture to go out or come on. It is unpredicatable and may stay fine for on a long time (several hours). Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

This is no solution but a point in a probable direction.
A tech guy told me ALL the LCDs they have seen in their repair shop have "swollen" capacitors, this is due to voltage instability. Lowering the internal voltage regulator and replacing the swollen capacitors (which eliminate noise) apparently restores the LCD to new working quality. Without actually "seeing" my problem the tech said that should repair it. I have not tried this yet but eventually will begin that way.

Please post both the exact model number (on the back) and the blink count. The standby light should be blinking a repeated pattern. That info will indicate the problem circuit and allow us to provide you with the proper parts/steps to resolve this.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,
To my understanding all that you need is which jacks of the cable box has to be connected to which jacks of the Philips TV. Limiting conditions are:
If none exists (Y, Pb, Pr at the rear of the cable box), determine if it has a composite (yellow jack) and if a similar one exists in the Philips TV.
Alternately if at all possible, post back with photos of the rear/connectors/ jacks of both the Philips and the cable box or list them in the comment box.
Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Not exactly familiar with this model but sounds like the projector lamp is burned out. Hopefully it's a replaceable type. Try calling these people - http://www.purelandsupply.com
