Question about Lexmark X4650 InkJet Printer

A small screw dropped into the top feeder of my Canon Pixma printer. I have tried holding the printer upside down and shaking it, nothing comes out. When I try printing from the top feeder, the paper jambs on the left side, from the bottom tray same thing! Help

Hi there ok Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

This is a rear feeding machine and i suspect something has fallen into the sheet feeder and causing your jam. Remove the cartridges, turn the machine upside down and give it a shake. Hopefully the object will fall out. If not then unfold a paperclip and gently slide it down into the feeder and see if you can dislodge the object then shake again.

Good luck.

Hi, I dropped some small scissors into the back of my Canon Pixma MX320. They're wedged in there so I need to take the back panel off. I've undone 3 screws but it doesn't want to shift and don't want to...

Disconnect the AC power.
Disconnect the USB cable.
Remove any paper and paper trays and paper guides.
Gently and slowly lift-up the printer, and turn it upside down.

VIGOUROUSLY SHAKE the printer -- after all, gravity "jammed" the scissors, and gravity is the best way to "reverse" the process.

Loose screw jamming paper in Canon Pixma MP530 printer

Go buy a magnetic retriever from your local hardware shop they are very cheap.

Make sure you get a slim version

Either that or turn the printer upside down and get someone to whack it on the bottom with the palm of their hand as you hold it

What goes in must come out

Dropped coins into papersheet feeder canon pixma mp780

The Canon is not a piggy bank! Even though it does **** money out of your pocket. Have you tried shaking it upside down? Failing this you really need to get a torch and have a GOOD look. If no coin disassembly will be necessary

Most likely something is in the paper feeder try turning it upside down and shaking it to see if anything should drop out,you need to remove whatever is in there before it works ok again..

A loud banging noise from inside - as it adjusts post printing

I'd check that there's nothing that's fallen into the rear paper feed that is now causing the rollers to jam and release with the bang you mention.

If you're feeling brave I'd try holding the printer upside down (get a friend to help you and watch out for the scanner sliding out!) and give it a bit of a shake to see if anything drops out.

Paper not going into the feeder wheels

got same problem.
I've tried to turn the printer upside down and to shake it.
I've tried to reset the printer.
The only solution was to remove the case, and lucky to pick up my little children toys parts from the printer :)
Unforunately the film cable is very tight and you and therefore is not a risc free operation. At least 16 screws. But a philips screw driver will make -it.

Printer will not feed paper

Hi, Take the ink out, tip the printer upside down and give it a good shake! The problem is nearly always, something stuck in the rollers. Let me know how it goes!

False paper jam warning on Canon Pixma iP3000 printer

I have been using the Canon MP180 PIXMA for almost three years now without a hitch until I received a paper jam warning which I could not resolve. I Googled "Canon PIXMA paper jam" today and landed on this site. I turned the printer upside-down and shook vigorously. Out popped a small pebble-like bit of concrete which somehow found it's way into my printer. I guess our hardwood floor installation on the floor above had shaken up some old plaster and concrete bits that had lodged in our drop-down ceiling from our 3rd floor bathroom renovation last year and this little ****** came through an opening in our rec-room (where the computer and printer are) drop-down ceiling. A very strange sequence of events, that I would not have suspected, but happy to say that your advice here did the trick and the printer is a tough and trustworthy little printer afterall! Thank you.
