Sanyo DP46849 composite video input malfunction

I purchased a Sanyo DP46849 in Mid November and today I turned on my dvd player, which is attached through the composite video input, and the picture is distorted. I thought that maybe it was the cables or the dvd player itself. I bought new cables and tried several dvd players and the results were still the same. The rest of the inputs work fine and I am only having this problem with the Composite video input .Anything i can do?

Sounds like a damaged port or related circuitry. You could take it to a repair shop if you really want to use that port, wouldn't cost too much

SANYO 46

Look for any problems in the power outlet, try connecting it to a different power outlet. Change the input device to some other like a DVD player and see. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

How to connect samsung dvd to samsung tv

Follow these steps: Component Video Connection 1. Get a component video cable. This cable has 3 sets of connectors, one each for the red, blue and green color signals.
2 Match the connectors to the appropriate video output jacks on the DVD player. Component video outputs will normally be labeled Cr/Cb/Cy. The Cy output jack is matched to green, Cr to red and Cb to blue.
3 Run the cable from DVD player to the TV. Most TV connections are made from the back panel, but this may vary.
4 Match the connectors to the appropriate video input jacks on the TV.
If using S-Video Connection
1 Get an S-video cable. This cable has a single round connector with 4 pins.
2 Attach one end of the S-video cable to the S-video output jack on the DVD player.
3 Attach the other end to the S-video input jack on the TV.
Composite Video Connection 1 Get a composite video cable. These types of cables are frequently bundled with two-channel audio cables. Composite video cables are tipped with yellow plugs.
2 Plug one end of the composite video cable into the composite video output jack on your DVD player.
3 Plug the other end into the composite video input jack on your TV.

I can't get the 3rd input to display color. Video 3 has sound and is in black and white. I'm using a 3 color cable to connect it to a dvd player

Try some different cables to eliminate the possibility of a bad cable. Make sure the equipment you are connecting is set for progressive scan or set to 480p,720p, or 1080i.

Howdo I hook a DVD player up to this model?

The easiest way would be to hook it up using the composite cables from the DVD player to the Rear of the TV.

First safely and slowly turn your TV around you should see inputs in the rear of the TV.

Second identify your composite inputs. They will be visible via the standard RCA Composite colors, which are Red(Audio), White(audio), and Yellow(Video)
Third Once you have found the RCA Composite Inputs, Take the cable which are inserted into the DVD player and Plug it into the TV's Composite Inputs.

Once all that is done, turn on your DVD player. Then using your TV's remote Press the "TV/VCR" / "Source" / "Input" button on your remote till you see video from your dvd player displayed on your TV.

I have a Sanyo DWM-390 DVD player and I can't get the video on my TV. I have the DVD player going directly to my TV versus my cable box. I have the video and audio chord in the corresponding audio and...

3 possible solutions to your problem starting with the easiest:

1. The audio/video cable is bad. It is possible the video side of the cable has a short.
2. Inputs on the back of the TV are mislabeled or aren't matching up with how you are connecting or using the inputs. Feel free to post a picture of the back of the unit with your cords attached and I can tell you for sure.
3. Some dvd players require you to select which video output mode to use. Most of the newer ones come defaulted to hdmi output and might need a menu selection changed to output using component or composite outputs (whichever you are using). Composite will just have the red and white connector for audio and a single yellow connector for video. Component uses the same 2 audio connectors and then red, green, blue conectors for the video.

Let us know more detail and I can help further.

Cant get both a VCR & DVD player to work on a SANYO TV, model # DS27590 cause there is no input button. The VCR works using a video button. Is it even possible???

Well if you could gain access to the inside if the set you could locate the Video's Composite Input, and there you could simply "Tap In" there, and run a Coax. OUT for the Video?DVD IN, and similarly, find the Audio's Input, and do the same for that. Then you could, simply NOT provide a signal, IE: Turn on & use, the VCR/DVD. And NOT supply a signal from the VCR/DVD. Instead supply the signal via YOUR leads, and it will NOT know the difference, and display what is being fed into it.

Trying to connect dvd player to sanyo LCD32K30TD. get picture but no sound.

Have you connected the red and white rca/composite cables to the appropriate output from dvd player to the input on the tv that is the same as the video. From there make sure the settings are correct on the dvd player as well as the tv. If you need further assistance let me know.
Thank you,
