Freddiej - my base got 'fried' somehow and won't work now. I have the lid & inside I would be happy to send to you if you can't find the manufacturer.
I can't even find out how to order another base. Durabrand is obviously the maker of many, cheaper items like cookware and electronic speakers.
you can contact me at libertybrooke at yahoo.com if you want the lid.
God bless.

Can i replace the crock pot on my 5 qt slow cooker-durabrand

Yes you can . You need to call the manufacturer and they will supply the information along with the price. If you have the manual or box the number will be displayed. If not for instance it from Revere than call that company you will need certain information such as serial number and model that is usually underneath the crock pot. good luck

5 qt Slow Cooker Lid

That's a Durabrand crockpot, made for Wal-Mart if I remember correctly. I know that many of Durabrand's electronic products are made by a company called Funai, but I don't know who makes the cookware. I came up empty trying to find a manufacturer or parts source on the Internet.

Some suggestions:

1. Try Wal-Mart and see if they can tell you what they do with defective returns. Maybe they can give you a name to try, or maybe they'll have a dud unit they can give you the lid from.

2. Measure the lid and see if there's a close match to a lid from a name-brand cooker. You might find one that fits well enough.

3. Check your local Craig's List postings or your local sales flyer (Green Sheet, Pennysaver, whatever it's called in your area). You may find someone selling one for a few bucks, or you can ask if anyone has a lid.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, but maybe one of these will get you in the right direction. Thanks for asking here!

What is the function of both the Auto and the High setting on the cooker?

I am not sure if it is the same as the Durabrand model I have but mine heats the food to boiling and then cooks and lowers the temperature automatically, it is handy if you are late preparing a meal, for example 12 noon and you want it ready for 7pm? Hope this helps. High settings usually boil quickly and is handy to use for the first hour after that reduce the temperature and you can knock at least an hour off the cooking time. Or you can use high throughout the meal and halve the slow cooking time, however this uses much more electricity than on slow.

Lid not a tight or smooth seal

Hi, I have a Durabrand Slow Cooker and before that I had a Rosemary Conley one, both had loose fitting lids but this did not affect the cooking etc. I think that is the way they are meant to be. Use a non slip mat too as this may help, mine never vibrated even on high. Maybe you should get someone to look at it for you.

My durabrand crockpot was given as a gift this past Christmas 2007. The inside part cracked severely when I was trying to make a pot roast. Where do I contact these people to get a replacement. I have not receipt as it was a gift. Walmart does not have any in stock to replace the inner part. I tried several stores. I cannot find the company online to contact them for a replacement.

To add water or not to add water????

Slow cookers do not need water in the base unit to cook the food in the ceramic insert. The ceramic insert gets hot from the base and cooks the food. Here is a good guide to cooking with a slow cooker. enjoy
