Tony hawk shred will not calibrate, have tried everything suggested by others (since christmas) for two months, still can not calibrate

It's possible that walls, people, or other entities are triggering the IR sensors on the sides of the board. To prevent this issue, make sure that there are four feet of free space on all sides whenever playing and that there are no large metal objects nearby.

Return to the main menu and select "Options", then select "Calibrate Board" and follow the onscreen instructions. Make sure to follow the steps exactly and hold the board in the calibrating positions for the amount of the time the video that is play is telling you.

During the initial IR sensor calibration process ensure that you are standing away from the board and that you are motionless. When it is time to calibrate each individual IR sensor you will then be shown some positions on the board to hold. Ensure that your entire foot is covering the lens of the particular IR sensor you are instructed to cover. Also ensure the board is facing the right direction. The buttons on the board should be on the left side of the board. Cover the whole sensor for the full count. Tony Hawk will say "Got it" when the timer is finishing. Continue to hold that board position until the button prompt to continue appears. Stepping off of the board before that will cause an error even after Tony Hawk says "Got it". You do not need to press a button to continue to move on to the next step. The calibration video will move on to the next step on its own.

If you still have issues with the calibration then try lowering the lights in the room. Sometimes bright lights can interfere with the IR sensors.

hope this helps

Cant calibrate tony hawk shred board to my wii. I've tried everything

At last! My Son's Tony Hawk Shred board was one more try from being thown down the garden, as i have been trying since Christmas day, & finally there it was a board i could use. I've followed all bits of advice in a number of differant ways --- here's what worked for me, Turn off at the wall Sky TV, Turn off all lights (only tv turned on), put my crutches in another room (because large metal objects interfere with soft ware), Remove dog from room, Put senser bar on floor, Turn Wii console side on so that Dongle faced away from tv (aiming into centre of room), Place Shred board on floor facing tv/senser at about three feet away. Start process of game set up untill you get to choose a profile, Select profile, press & hold for 5 secs start button on board untill the four blue lights start to flash at a rate of about one flash per sec, then hold on same button untill blue lights flash quickly, then press & hold Dongle button untill Dongle light stays on, with in 2 secs game calibartion instructions start, BEWARE Tony Hawks responce when process starts is as annoying as not being able to get board started. Good luck when up & running it is one Awesome game!

Can't calibrate tony hawk shred board xbox360

A lot of people are apparently having this problem. Since I don't own the game, I checked it out on Google and here are some helpful tips:
1) Replace the batteries with brand-new batteries.
2) Do the initial calibration off the ground. Put it on something like a coffee table or a nightstand. Obviously you aren't going to stand on it but you can still recalibrate it after your initial calibration.
3) Finally, here's one directly from ShredGame.com:

Board will not calibrate

Try leaving a 4ft space open around the board, preferably 8-10 feet away from sensors! I had this same problem and after googling it, seems others have to. I waited till it was dark, turned off all the lights but the light from the tv and it calibrated first try! Maybe this will work for u..the sensors on the wii are really sensitive to lighting so if this doesn't work try providing ample light around the board instead! Gl hope u get it calibrated!

We are having trouble calibrating the sensors of the skateboard and wii on tony hawk's ride Help in layman's lang please!!! Thanks

Honestly a lot of people have had similar problems here is the complete process of you have thought of or done all this you should return for a new product.

connect the Tony Hawk dongle to a USB port in the back of the Wii. Once connected, press the button on the dongle; it will begin flashing. Now press and hold the power button on the skateboard controller until it syncs with the dongle.

The game should be running when you do this.. And also, make sure the board has fresh new batteries.. If it doesnt work, try the same with the other usb port..

Let me know if this helps or not!

This may seem minor, but with any motion sensing games.. Interference is always an issue.. Please make sure to follow these directions exactly. And make sure that nothing and no one os moving around anywhere withing the four foot of range the board needs to calibrate with the sensors. read below.
· It’s possible that walls, people, or other entities are triggering the IR sensors on the sides of the board. To prevent this issue, make sure that there are four feet of free space on all sides whenever playing. And that there are no large metal objects nearby.
· Return to the main menu and select “Options”, then select “Calibrate Board” and follow the onscreen instructions. Make sure to follow the steps exactly and hold the board in the calibrating positions for the amount of the time the video that is play is telling you.
