Question about PfaFF Creative 7570

1 Answer

Pfaff Creative 1371

Haven't used my machine for several years. When I set it up today to use it, the presser foot seems to be stuck--it will not go down. The presser bar lever works up and down, but the foot does not move.

Thanks -- I tried the oil, but still will not budge. The wheel just does not turn.

Thank you for your efforts. I finally broke down and took it to the sewing machine shop -- they said it was totally seized up and had to send it to their repair center.

Can the presser foot be raised slightly on pfaff tiptronic 2030 to facilitate free motion quilting? There is not enough clearance with feed dogs down to freely move material to quilt. Thank you.

You need a special foot for free motion quilting--it is slightly shorter in height than a regular presser foot, which essentially provides space between the presser foot and the needle plate to manually move the fabric. Sometimes machines came with a standard darning foot accessory. Your Pfaff dealer probably has at least one style in stock. But there are other specialty feet you can probably use, ie Big Foot, clear free motion foot, C-shaped, oval, etc. You can also purchase a shank adapter (verify it is the correct shank for your machine) and use it with a kit of snap-on presser feet so you can have a variety of presser feet for different functions.

Can I use modern presser feet with my Pfaff 130?

It all depends on your particular model machine.

Found on the internet, Low Shank vs High Shank:
"When presser foot is down, measure the distance from the bottom of foot to screw-hole that holds the foot onto the presser bar. Singer slant is for slant needle machine only. A high shank machine measures approximately 1 1/4" from the screw to the bottom of the foot."

You may be able to use snap-on feet if you can first buy the shank adapter for your machine. You can buy a whole kit of 10 or more different snap-on feet that you would be able to use with the adapter shank.

Buying brand-name accessories could get very expensive. Some believe the generics or snap-on are inferior, but that is a matter for the owner to determine after deciding how much the accessories will be used. Personally, the snap-on feet I've used serve their purpose. If I am using a foot very frequently, I will consider buying the brand-name because the quality is usually better.

You'll need to determine what shank your machine has and whether these feet will work on your machine. Frequently, you can find accessories on eBay.

Here's an example of an adapter for low shank:

If your footer have been in storage for so long, there must be some rust accumulating in the footer, you should have a technician take a look at it.

My presser foot "handle" is stuck on my Pfaff Creative 7550, I can't move it to use my machine. I don't see anything wrong, any suggestions?

Yikes! I bet that since it has sat for so long that you have some corrosion not allowing the foot bar to be moved.

Pfaff 7550 pressure foot

The presser adjustment is usually above the presser foot near the top of the machine.

It can be a post on the top of the machine, a chrome screw on the top of the machine.

Check with your Pfaff dealer.

I use the walking foot for this technique...no puckers if the quilt is first basted.

Fabric does not move forward

Either the presser foot does not have enough pressure on it or it is not lowering all the way to the fabric.
Remove the fabric.lower the presser foot.If the presser foot has no or little pressure look for the pressure regulator on top the machine or on the left side and see if you can make it tighter. Not all machines have this.Look to see if there is space between the foot and the teeth when you turn the handwheel. If there is space then the machine needs an adjustment.

Tension assembly test. To do this test. Pull the threadthrough the tension assembly and test it to make sure the tension is workingcorrectly.
(To do this test, adjust your tension setting to normal or medium or 5 orsomething in the middle. Raise the presser foot and pull the thread through thetension. It should pull easily!! Lower the presser foot and pull the thread. Itshould pull noticeably harder.)
If it doesn’t work this way then you probably have a pieceof thread or lint stuck inside the tension discs. To remove it, turn thetension to 0 zero and raise the presser foot.Using a small screwdriver, openthe space between the discs and spray with canned or compressed air( a needle will work also). The stuffshould come out. Do the tension test again to make sure you got everything andthen try sewing again.

Pfaff 6122 Problem

Your machine just needs to be tuned up an the part inside that lower and raises the presser foot needs to be re-lubricated.  Lint, dust, dryness and the machine not being used can cause this issue with most pfaff machines (including my 7570).  A standard tune up from your local PFAFF dealer will remedy this.
