Make sure it has a new battery inside. Then there should be a "dial" or a switch that turns it on. The battery is probably dead. You can see the tiny red light -- light up-- if you look in the front of the finder.

What size is the battery for the red dot target scope please?

Every red dot finder uses a different size battery. If you do not have the old one call Optics Planet, they sell these scopes. Usually they take a small watch style battery.

The battery for the red dot finder scope on my Bushneel 78-9669 scope appears to be dead.\r\nHow do I remove the dead one ? What is the button battery number for a new one? Thanks.......Mike

Most red dot finders use a small watch style battery-- there will either be a compartment underneath and or something that opens on the side that contains the watch battery.

The CIR electronic finder dose not work

This is a simple red dot finder. First check the battery inside the finder-- and replace it.

If it still does not work you can buy a new one here:

How do I adjust the Mars-eye elec. finder.

Contact Galileo telescopes here for help:
http://www.galileosplace.com/

Assuming the batteries are OK, there should be adjustment screws on the finder for moving the red dot around.

Focus the telescope on a distant object, then without moving the scope adjust the dot on the same distant object.

Can you return the red dot finder? It's apparently broken.

These can be purchased (not too very expensive)

Can use my orbitor 4500 w o a viewfinder?

Do you mean the small "finderscope" mounted on top?

Yes you can use it but the finder makes it easier to point the scope. You can buy small red dot finder scopes here:

Red dot finder scope

Simple-- you can also do this during the day on an object at least 100 yards away-- but at night; get the moon centered in the eyepiece and without moving the telescope center the red dot on the moon. This will get you almost aligned-- then put a bright star in the eyepiece and readjust the red dot to center the star.

Can somebody give me detailed instructions on how to set up a red

I don't fully understand your question--- but

Here is a place that sells red dot finders
http://www.telescope.com/control/category/~category_id=finder_scopes/~pcategory=accessories;jsessionid=673DFBAEF16C9717304DE7863D541CF6.ivprod2

They are very simple-- they project a tiny "red dot" like a gun sight when you look through them. You line them up with your telescope and use them to quickly aim the telescope.

point the telescope at some thing during the day and adjust the finder scope and at night point at a star look through the eye piece and center the object in the eye piece then adjust the finder scope.
