MAC filtering settings can be accessed through router configuration settings of your router. Please let me know the make and model of your router so that I can help you with your problem.

My 360 pro wont connect online. it says "can't connect to your network hardware using static ip address" i do not know what a static ip is how do i check and fix that?

a static IP is when your computer's name (or IP address) doesn't change each time you log on. This is opposed to a dynamic IP that would provide a new IP address every time you go online. To fix this try these steps:
1. go to system settings on the xbox and select network settings. Restore factory defaults. 2. Restart your modem and router by unplugging the power source and waiting 30 seconds before plugging it back in
If all else fails, go to the xbox website and check under support or call 18004myxbox

Xbox wont let me download

Your account is probably registered to someone who is listed underage for some of the content.

1. You can wait untill you are adult
2. You need to make a new account for examble with your parents details. and with theyr birthdate.

I dont know of any other way.

Xbox 360 elite is hard wired. says we must have an ethernet cable, which we do. any suggestions

1st step turn all items off Router and Xbox. Unplug all cables and double check them and make sure in good condition, no tears or kinks in it. Plug both ends back in to the router and the Xbox. Power the router back on and let it run for 2 minutes. Boot the Xbox up and go through the setup menu and make sure the Wired connection is selected. Also I know with the PS3 a DMZ selection is suggested. How you would do this is 1st go into your router usually by going into your internet explorer and enter the IP address for your router usually 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.1. You will need info such as IP Address for your router or your Main IP Address, as well as DNS numbers 1 and 2, as well as possibly need Subnet Mask which will all be displayed in your router main page. You can go to gaming and administration. Use an IP address that is outside of your router DHCP range such as if your router DHCP range is 192.168.2.100-.149 you would want to place a static IP in your Xbox such as 192.168.2.150 for example. If you place your Xbox at a static IP such as I explained here you can then enter the same IP from your Xbox into your DMZ in the router. I hope this helps you out. good luck and happy gaming.

Can you tell me what an ip addresse is im trying to connect to xbox live and it keeps asking for ip addresse

Every device connected to the public internet is assigned a unique number known as an internet protocol (IP) address. IP addresses consist of four numbers separated by periods(also called a 'dotted-quad') and look something like 127.0.0.1

since these numbers are usually assigned to internet service providers with region based blocks, an IP address can often be used to identify the region or country from which a computer is connecting to the internet. an IP adress can sometimes be used to show the users general location because the numbers may be tedious to deal with, an IP adress may also be assigned to a host name, which is sometimes easier to remember hostnames may be looked up to find IP adresses, and vice-versa. at one time ISPs issued one IP adress to each user. These are called static IP addresses. beacuse there is a limited number of IP adresses and with increased usage of the internet ISPs now issue IP adresses in a dynamic fashion out of a pool of IP addresses (using DHCP). these are referred to as dynamic IP addresses. This also limits the ability of the user to host websites mail servers, ftp servers, etc. in addition to users connecting to the internet with virtual hosting,a single machine can act like multiple machines (with multiple domain names and IP addresses).

Connection!

Hi,

Give your X360 a static IP address and go into your router interface, find the DMZ feature and put in the IP address that you gave the X360, just make sure the IP you give it is within the DHCP pool of IP addresses.

The X360 will now be sat outside the routers firewall giving you FULL access to internet content and gaming online.

Now test connection settings and you will notice you will now have an open connection to the internet.

Thanks

Xbox elite ip adress failure

From the question above I think you are saying that when you unplug your Ethernet cable from your Internet connection out of your E-BOX and try to use it in your laptop, it doesn't work. If this is correct, then it's probably that your ISP only allows for 1x active address to be used at any one time. To overcome the problem you'll need to also power recycle your Internet modem to clear out the MAC address of the X-BOX once you've unplugged it and before you make the laptop connection. You would have to do this each time you wanted to swap between the devices.
Alternatively, get yourself a Router to sit in between the Modem and end devices and then have an additional permanent cable / 2nd physical port to use.

I think you need to ring your internet provider and they will enable xbox live from their side. Its fairly simple and they will know what your talking about.

Xbox live

THINGS TO TRY loadTOCNode(1, 'whattotry'); Direct connection with a modem only loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); 1. If you are connecting to Xbox Live by using a modem that is connected directly into your broadband socket, your IP address settings are obtained from your ISP. Set your IP address in Network Settings to Automatic. 2. If you use a static IP address that you obtained from your ISP, you must manually enter this address in the Dashboard. Contact your ISP for their static IP address if you do not know it. If the IP is not static, continue with the rest of the troubleshooting. 3. Power cycle the modem. 4. If your ISP requires PPPoE settings, verify that you have entered them correctly. 5. If your ISP does not use PPPoE authentication, do not use these fields in the Dashboard. Shared connection with a modem and a router loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); 1. Power cycle both the modem and the router. 2. Try connecting the Xbox 360 console to Xbox Live by using the modem only. This eliminates any configuration problems on the router. • If this setup works without the router, there is a configuration issue with the router. See the router's documentation or contact the technical support group. 3. Verify that your router's DHCP service has been enabled. See the router's documentation or contact the technical support group. 4. The IP address that you entered in the Network Settings area of the Xbox Dashboard may be incorrect. Set your IP settings to Automatic. 5. If your ISP requires PPPoE settings, try to connect with only the modem after you enter the PPPoE settings in Network Settings. • If you can connect, see your router documentation to configure the PPPoE settings correctly on the router. 6. If you are receiving an IP conflict error in the More Info section, turn off all the devices on the network. Try to connect with only the modem and Xbox 360 console connected. • If this works, there is a configuration issue on the routers DHCP server. See the router's documentation or contact the technical support group. Shared connection with a gateway device (combined modem and router) loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); 1. Make sure that the device is turned on. 2. Verify that there is activity with the blinking lights sequence WAN, ADSL, and Internet connected power. Note These names will vary from model to model. 3. Power cycle the gateway device. 4. The IP address that you entered in to the Network Settings area of the Xbox Dashboard may be incorrect. Set your IP settings to Automatic. 5. If you are receiving an IP conflict error in the More Info section, turn off all the other devices on the network. Try to connect with only the Xbox 360 console on the network. • If this test works, there is a configuration issue on the gateway DHCP server. See the router's documentation or contact the technical support group. Shared connection with Microsoft Windows Internet Connection Sharing loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); 1. Verify that you can browse the Internet. If you cannot browse the Internet, Internet Connection Sharing is not configured correctly. 2. Power cycle the modem. If the modem does not have an on and off switch, unplug the modem from the power outlet. You cannot follow this step if you are using a USB modem. Instead, go to the next step. You must follow this step if you are switching the modem between the Xbox 360 console and a computer. 3. On the computer, click Start, click Run, type ncpa.cpl, and then click OK. 4. On the View menu, click Tiles. 5. If the connection is listed as Firewalled, the firewall may have to be configured. See your firewall documentation. 6. Enter manual settings in the Dashboard for IP address, subnet mask, DNS address and gateway: • IP Address : 192.168.0.2 • Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0 • Default Gateway : 192.168.0.1 • DNS server (Primary): 192.168.0.1 • DNS server (Secondary): 192.168.0.1If none of this works you might be banned. If you modded your xbox360 or for downloading game saves from the internet to boost you gamer score. You might be banned!
