How do I reset the password on the windows 7 home page

Windows has a built-in security system that requires a user to type in a password to get to his personal account.
Only an "Administrator" account holder can make software changes to the computer.
All other users, including Guest users, need the permission of an Administrator to make any system changes.
However, if you have a guest account and need to access the Administrator account to make changes, you can do so via the Command Prompt feature.
Log in to your Guest account in Windows.
Go to "Start" > "Search" and type in "windows/system32/cmd.exe" to find the Command Prompt feature.
When the file appears on the search menu, drag it to your desktop.
Leave the search window open.

Right-click the cmd.exe file on your desktop and choose "Rename."
Type "sethc.exe" for the new name and click on an empty area next to the file name to save the new name.
Right-click on the "sethc.exe" file and click on "Copy."
Go back to the open "windows/system32" folder and right-click anywhere in the folder.
Select "Paste" to put the "sethc.exe" file inside.
Choose "Yes" when asked if you want to overwrite the current file.
Go to "Start" > "Log Off." It will bring you back to the User Account menu.
Press the "Shift" key 5 times in a row.
The Command Prompt will open.
Type "net user administrator [password]" and insert a new password in the [password] section.
Press "Enter" to set your new password.
It will bring you back to the User Accounts menu.
Click on the Administrator User Account and type the password you just set to log in to the account.

How to login xp after deleting a administrator accounts

Try logging in as Guest,or guest,no password.
Then go to Control Panel-User Accounts-New User and re-establish an Administrator User and account settings for it.
Make whatever User accounts you'll need, and then delete the guest account. It's a security hole.
If this helps, please rate my post.
Thanks

Rid admin. user&password update comp2run faster

There are two solutions to your problem. First reinstall the operating system thus wiping out the previous user accounts and thus the administrator password.

If you would like there is a way to break the administrator's password. You need to crack your administrator password hashes.

Contact me if you would like some help regarding above.

I forgot my Administrator Password

If you have the Administrator user password. Try logging in with it and reset your user password.

If you dont, that's a big problem.

The only solution is that to remove the hard disk for that machine and connect it to another machine with administrator privilages. Guest user will not be able to access the files.

You need to backup all your data to another PC. Format and install a clean windows installation. Move your data back to your original PC.

There is no way to hack around the forgotten password.

Password reset

The administrator user id disappers if you use the login screen with the pictures on it. If you use the other login screen where you type in the user id, it will let you use it by typing it in. It was done as a safety feature because by default administrator doesn't have a password associated with it.

Administrator Password

you may be able to get in with the default administrator account.
when you get to the welcome screen, press control/alt/del together.
this will open up a dialog box where you can type in user names/passwords.
There are two accounts you can try here:
try the Administrator account and the Guest account. Try them both with no passwords and try the administrator one with the same password your account had.
You can also type into this box to verify your keyboard is working properly (caps lock off, all keys working, etc).
Finally, if none of this works, try booting in to safe mode and logging in through there.

If worse comes to worse, there are a couple of free programs you can install on a cd and upon boot they will reset the administrator password.
