Is there a power saving setting? I think we accidental set it as the camera screen goes black after about 30 seconds. If we push the shutter button, it powers back up, but it used to not go black after...

The "Auto Off" setting in the Setup menu will let you select from 30 seconds, one minute, five minutes, or 30 minutes. See the "Using the SET-UP Menu" section of the manual (beginning on page 120 in my copy), especially the "Conserving Battery Power: Auto Off" page (page 133 in my copy). If you need a manual you may download a copy here.

IRon heats standing but the light goes out when I set it horizontal to iron a garment. I think the cord is needing replacement but need advice.

If the iron is not moved while it is plugged
in, an internal safety switch will turn it off.
- It will turn off in 8 minutes if left vertically or
in 30 seconds if left on its soleplate or tipped
over. A red flashing light indicates that the
auto-off has been activated.

The above information is from the Rowenta DX1700 Owner's Manual. I think most, if not all Rowenta irons have the "auto off" safety feature. If your iron is going off before the 30 seconds idle time, the sensor may be defective. If you are letting it sit on the sole plate longer than 30 seconds, you may just need to work faster. ;-)

Found a way to get into the adjusment menu but

Hold and press ACTION and POWER on the front of the set for at least 5 seconds together and then release both buttons--should take it out of the Chk mode.

Fax display screen always reads, "Auto receive". When attempting to fax, the busy light flashes. Busy light stops flashing for 30 seconds, then starts flashing again.
Above is the default settings for the fax.

NGB0 indicates signal error or line condition error.
U need to check the phone line. U can hook any single line phone to the phone line, check for tones without background noise.
