Hello there:
Normally when this happens this is a indication that the internal fuse has blown or your keypad has shorted out
So what you are going to have to do is first unplug the microwave and then remove all of the screws from the back and sides that are on the edge of the back and sides normally there are 8 on the back and like 6 on the sides then the outer cover will slide to the rear of the machine then lift off
you may have to get a flat tip screw driver and insert it in the crease and pry it towards the back just a little to get the cover to start moving once the cover is off
look towards the front and you wil see where all of the wires are connected to a electronics board there will be a fuse on it simply replace the fuse with a good one and see now if the microwave will work if so great just replace the cover and you are done but if not then you may have a bad keypad which will need to be replaced or you ahve suffered a electrical board failure and in this case it woudl be wise to send it in for repairs or replace the microwave ok
Hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Michael

Fan stays on, microwave does work, how can I get the fan to stop running?

Hello, Wanda -

Until you can have your microwave repaired, if that is what you ultimately wish to do, you can pull out the plug from the electrical outlet for the power cord for the microwave.

With no electric power, the fan will stop.

Hi I have a Samsung SMH9187 micowave that is dead (no display, light, fan, mirowave).

Sounds like the main fuse blew. It's either near where the power cord enters the cabinet, or behind the control panel (if an over the range unit).

You may also have some type of failure in the high voltage circuit; based on your description of the symptoms.

Bosch microwave & exhaust fan trip fuse when on at the same time as the gas stove.

see the next steps: use the common sense and VOM
1. No power to outlet (overload or fault in microwave or other appliance).
2. Blown main fuse - likely due to other problems.
3. Open thermal protector or thermal fuse.microfuse.jpg
4. Defective controller or its power supply.
5. Clock needs to be set before other functions will operate (some models).

How do I set Clock?

Disconnect the microwave from the power source while the power is still out. If the microwave is a built-in, turn off the circuit breaker. Otherwise, unplug the microwave from the wall outlet. This prevents a power surge from damaging the magnetron tube when the power is restored.Turn on the circuit breaker or plug the microwave into the outlet only when you are sure that the power is permanently restored. If there are still storms in the area, the power may be disrupted again. Reset the clock on the microwave. Microwaves vary slightly on how to set the clock, but usually there is a clock button you press. Use the number pad to input the correct time and press the clock button again to set it. Test the microwave by heating some water to ensure that it is still in good operating condition.

Microwave has power, but nothing works.

The door switches are more than likely the problem, one or two will need to be replaced, I recommend a professional.

No power but outlet is functioning properly

There is a ceramic fuse inside the oven. Remove the case and follow the cord from the back of the oven to the fuse. Replace with on of the same amp size.

EVERY PART OF THE MICROWAVE STOPPED WORKING

There is an internal fuse inside. Need to find the cause for it blowing or it will just go again. Check the monitor switch and door switches. Eric

No power to GE Spacemaker Microwave

I have model GE Microwave serial # JVM2070SK02. I start to cook something and it shuts off 5~10 seconds. Keyboard is still lit up, but no clock, fan, light and you cannot operate anything on the key pad. Unplug the unit and it resets. Sometimes it cooks, sometimes it doesn't? It is getting more frequent with the shutting down problem?

Microwave stopped working

Generally, you get something unless the fuse inside is blown. There is generally a fuse inside the unit when you remove the button package. First, make sure that the outlet you have is good. Plug something else into it and see that it works.
