The mobo probably has a fuse soldered down near the USB portsNo monitor/mouse/keyboard response. All else seem - 2_bing.gif. The typical fuse is flat, about 1/8 x 1/4 inch, may be green in color, and may have a number on it. A simple continuity test will check the fuse, If the fuse is blown, check with an electronics supply house for the replacement fuse. If unable to repair, you might try a USB PCI card2_bing.gif.

I don't know how to plug in the wires for the ASUS a8n sli deluxe motherboard

Here is the manual for your motherboard (since describing a diagram probably isn't very useful...)
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket939/A8N-SLI/e2024_a8n-sli.pdf

You want to look at pages 27-35, they describe what you need to plug into the motherboard. Basically make sure you have connected:

1) 24-pin power cable (from power supply)
2) 4-pin power cable (for CPU from power supply)
3) Any case fans with 3/4 pin connectors.
3) hard drives (SATA or IDE)
4) USB front panel ports
5) Audio front panel ports
6) Case plugs (power LED, hdd LED, power switch, and reset switch).

No video after replacing chip fan

Try a different video-card -- a "no-spin" fan and "no-video" implies a dead video-card (or at least a video-card that is not "seated' properly).

Check that the PC-speaker leads are connected to the motherboard, so that you could hear any "beep" codes. There should be one "beep" to indicate 'OK', or multiple "beeps" (bad RAM, no video-card detected).

Here is my problem, a bit long but almost the complete story! I have 4 year old MESH X-Treme FX60, running XP2. It has an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe PCI-Express Mainboard, 2 Serial ATA Hard drives and (according...

Remove everything connected to the PC ie usb devices with the exception of keyboard and mouse. Removing memory and starting a PC will never work it needs it to boot. check all connections are secure especially that the graphics cards are seated in their slots, now try.
The error code you get is related to the graphics card so remove them and clean them up refit and try again. If it still fails remove the link between the cards remove the card you suspect as faulty and boot with just one card. When you find the culprit you can choose to live without it or get it repaired. If you are not into powerful 3D effect games I'd live without it

Does ASUS A8N-SLI DELUXE support fan speed changing?

You can research *********** board and drivers at ASUS.com.
You may find a new BIOS update which controls the fan speeds and temp.
If not, you can find plenty of frreware which will handle *********** board.

No PS/2 keyboard response on boot.

Try a different keyboard and then try a different mouse. Try unhooking the hard drive and see if it goes past the logo, if it still doesn't then go ahead and disonnect the keyboard and mouse and see if it goes past the logo screen. If it doens't go past the logo then take the memory and cpu out and blow so air onto it to make sure specs of dirt or dust are no affectng it.

you can also try different memory as well to see if it stops locking up. Otherwise if you go thru these steps and you still have the lockups, its not going to be the keyboard are mouse causing the problems, its the motheboard.

You can try a usb keyboard and it might work but that would mean you have a bad ps2 port on the motherboard and as long as that doesn't bother you then the computet will be fine.

Ram problems

Your memory should be in slots A-1 & B-1
You Asus board uses the Award bios. The link posted below will tell you what your beeps are saying.
http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm

In your case do as I suggested above. I have two working
A8N-SLI Deluxe boards & the memory works fine in A-1 & B-1 slots.

Good luck & best wishes!

System wouldn't Boot

If your CPU or memory were an issue your Asus board would sound off with BIOS beeps. Asus uses the Award BIOS & you can see what these beeps mean at the link below. Regaurding your PC not able to boot is an issue with your PCIE/PEG video card-in relationship with BIOS setting & the SLI switch card mode that came with your board. When running 1PEG video card you must set this in the BIOS to Auto & you need your SLI switch card connected in its slot. By default, the EZ Selector card is set for a single graphic card. When you install dual PCIE graphic cards on A8N-SLI series motherboards, please make sure EZ Selector card set to the Dual Video Card side and properly inserted. Link to Award Bios beep codes: http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm
Will come in handy.
Reading the FAQ's at Asus site will help you better understand your A8N-SLI Deluxe. You'll need to fill in the, "Please Select the Product" first: http://support.asus.com/faq/faq.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
