I would check to see if the lever is fully disengaged(pull up on it while pulling the release or push down if it is a hand brake lever while pushing the button) if it is fully disengaged then I would look into changing the switch or checking the ground to see if it is good buy cleaning the switch contacts.

SOURCE: Parking Brake Light on Lincoln LS Problem

there is a sensor in your mastercylinder that senses brake fluid level it is probably low.check your brake pads they could be close to needing replaced.

SOURCE: 1999 accord wont shift out of park and no break lights.

u have a problem with ur break light switch,,, its at the brake pedal and is threaded into the brake pedal bracket, if u have a new one and are going to replace it, disconnect the connector, loosen the 14mm nut and remove the switch by turning it counterclockwise...install ther new switch by turning it clockwise and tightening the 14mm nut then reconnect the connector...be sure to adjust the switch or else the brake lights will stay on at all times...draining ur battery and possibly burning out ur bulbs...this also releases ur trans from park to put into gears

Stop 2006 Ford crown vic fro m beeping

Austin Parker... hello,

When car electronics DECDE to act strangely... it is ALWAYS a good time to check for BATTERY TERMINAL corrosion...
(If you are not comfortable playing with highly corrosive materials... IT'S SERVICE STATION TIME.

So...
You have removed the key... The car is fully in PARK...
BRAKES applied... Lights all turned off... (no lights on dash?).

Repeat your last exit cycle...

Get back in start the car... Make sure everything functions as normal Set your brake... Park, off the lights (everything)...

Put it in gear...

Still beeping... (write down your radio settings)

Time to do a Bill Gates... (hard power cycle)
Disconnect your negative battery lead
and take a 10 minute break...

Reconnect battery... start car & park it again... OK?

ELSE...

If it resumes beeping it will be time to beg, borrow or buy that OBD Reader you always wanted any-way!

HOPE this helps

When handbrake is off,it beeps 3x when you start to move, then it stops, also the rear brake lights stay on why?

Sounds like you drive a Ford. Usually the parking break light is the a bad pressure switch some times I have seen a piece of garbage stuck that keeps you hand break from seating all the way to contacted the pressure switch. The beeping you hear when you start moving is just the car notifying you that the break is registered as being applied.

Parking Break Censor Will not stop beeping!

Hi. Which model? On the earlier models, the park brake light is also the brake fluid light. If the fluid is at min then the light comes on when the fluid sloshes around the resevoir. Topping up the fluid solves this.

Jetta break light is on and when driving it beeps??

It might be the parking brake warning - you may need to check the parking brake switch.

I just had my brakes changed on my 2006 passat. Now the electronic parking break sensor won't stop beeping but everything works. How can I get the fault to go away so It will stop beeping

also if u take battery off for 10 mins, hook battery back up again, turn car on, hold in break paddle for 35 seconds, then still holding in break paddle hold in handbrake button for 10 seconds, release all and start car up, press break button a few times, turn car off again take out key, lock and open car then press break button again and now all should b back to normal

The brake light is continually on, on the dash of my 2006 VW Jetta. The emergency brake is all the way down, and yet the brake light is on, and there is a non-stop beeping sound while driving.

If your ABS light is light it could mean several things. First check to make sure that your parking break is all the way down. Secondly, it could be cause by you not having enough fluid for your breaks.
