There are two tabs under the main top that you need to depress with a putty knife. that will release the front panel. once you remove the front that will give you access to the two screws that hold the main top down

Fridge washer GLWS1349AS0, have inner tub out, trunion lifted, not off yet due to slight rust. How do I change spin bearing and tub seal? thanks.

Hello,
To remove the trunion totally reattach the inner tub to it and twist the inner tub, with the tub attached it gives you much more leverage to twist and pull the trunion off. After its off pull the small brass ring with the O seal in it up the transmission shaft and pop the tub seal off. To replace tub bearing remove the bolts on the side of the side of the outer tub off from the tub support and pull tub off of trans. shaft. to remove bearing flip tub upside down and remove the 2 screws from the tabs on bearing and turn tub back right side up and use a screwdriver on the top of bearing and knock it out of outer tub, push new bearing in by hand most of the way, being sure the tabs on bearing is lined up w/notches on tub and use old bearing placed on top of new one and drive it down all the way, reinstall screws into tabs. All the surface rust should be sanded off of trans shaft. Re install outer tub and secure with the bolts into tub support. push main tub seal into flange with normal palm pressure, install new brass ring and MAKE SURE O RING DOESNT POP OUT OF IT ( a little dawn, palmolive joy liquid dishwashing soap around inner part of o ring inside of brass ring will help it slip on easily) I use the old brass ring and press it over new brass ring to assist in o ring not popping out, once new brass ring is inserted ok and oring in place remove and discard old brass ring. Reistall trunion and inner tub ECT ECT ECT

Model-WHDSR316GOWN. Sounds like the drum is banging against the outer wall during wash cycle, not spin. Drum also seems to move too easily around the interior. Is there a bracket that may be broken? Is...

3 things can do this, there is a shock absorber mounted from the "platform" assembly up to the tub cover on top of the tub that has become dislodged, broken, etc., also there is a "Spring/Suspension rod" also connected in the same manner that can do the same as above shock can, otherwise, there also are 4 "tub dampening straps" located around the top of the tub and they can break off the tub cover and aid in the first 2 issues, you need to remove the front cover by taking a flat blade/putty knife between the top and front cover near the sides and pop the clips holding the front panel on,then you can remove the lid-switch wires and remove the top cover to inspect all above possibilities

i believe all you have to do is put your fingers underneath the bottom of the agitator and pull up and the whole agitator pops up to remove it out of the tub.

I have a year 2 year old GE WPRE6150H1WT. We have paid a repare man twice to fix the place where the water enters the washer. It has a fine spray and clogs. Then the water runs full force on the outside...

if you mean you want to change the part that the water goes through to fill the tub it's called a funnel shower head for g.e. part number WH41X10162 and it's around 5 dollars.but are you positive that the tub isn't tilting one way or the other more than it should and the water is running down the back of the washer? there's 4 suspension rods that hold the tub in place and balanced, they push into a plastic cap and sometimes pop out and the tub tilts off balance and there's 4 damper straps, they are rubber pieces that connect to the top,if you lift the top panel up you'll see them if one of them break it throws the tub off balance and the water can run down the back, but if you're looking for the part that the water fills through it's called a funnel shower head good luck

I have a top loader Maytag that is about 5 years old. It has mold that is visible around the top gasket - above the "barrel" How do I completely clean this machine of mold / mildew.

There is 2 clips to raise the top of the washer. You need a flat blade, like a putty knife or similar. while trying to lift the top at the seam, push the flat blade in at the right front corner it should pop up. Repeat for the left, this should let you get to the underside to clean around the gasket etc.

I am trying to clean out all the gunk that has built up between the inner and outer tub on my trusty Kenmore 60 series washer. I have removed the agitator and tried to life the inner tub out to no avail. ...

there is a special nut called a spanner nut. it is about 1 1/2 inches and needs special tool to remove it to get the inner tub out of the unit. you might be able to remove it with a pipe wrench and then you can get access to the outer tub.
i would recommend just using a washer cleaner and trying that first.
these chemical cleaners are designed to remove residues and are much easier then taking the unit apart.

Washer Tub Gasket

remove gasket from cabinet - just held onto cabinet by a simple clamp and fold gasket inside drum. this will give you enough room to access the retainer. you may find it easier to remove the top as well

TAKING APART

withoout asking why , heres how to remove the inner tub, simple enough. theres abolt in the top of the agitator,(pop the little cover with a screwdriver). the agitater pops off, insert a screw driver under the maintop perhaps 3 inches in from both sides and pop the clips the main top leans back. Unsnap the white cover from around the outer tub and lastly there will be (2)) 1/2inch screws screwed into asolid block at bottom of agitator, thay are locking the inner tub to the transmission shaft. note the flat spot on the transmission whish the block is resting youll need to reinstall it at same point

Front washer seal (boot)

It is easier to do this job if the machine can be leaned back By leaning it back, the tub will hang back from the front panel and you will have increased space to work. If leaning it back is not possible, then a 6 or 8 inch block of wood can be wedge between the front panel and the tub to hold the tub back out of the way. Using some liquid dishwasher soap sparingly lubricate this groove on the boot to make it easier to slip onto the lip of the tub shell. With the boot in one hand and with the other hand
spreading the lip and groove (on the boot near the arrow), force the lip into the groove behind the lip at the top of the opening on the tub shell. Using spacers provided with the new boot, hold the spring in place in the groove on the outside perimeter of the
boot. these spacers will prevent the spring from popping out when you let go of it to use both hands to stretch it further around the boot. Begin by pushing the spring down into the groove just forward
from where the boot contacts the front tub shell at about the 12 o’clock position. While holding the spring in place with one hand, use the other to tightly wedge the spacer above it, between
the spring (in its groove) and the weight ring above it. Working to the right, push the spring down into the groove. Once the spring has been installed about 90 degrees around the opening from the first spacer, the spring will begin to get tight. Install another spacer at that point. Check the first spacer to make sure it stays in place. Continue working your way around until you reach
180 degrees from the first spacer. Install the third spacer. The spring will be extremely tight now. Once you have gone more than half way around, the spring will be easier to roll into the rest of the groove.
