All speakers can be repaired. Get a measurement for the tweeters and go to this website:
http://www.simplyspeakers.com/14replacements.htm

simply unscrew the old speaker and pull it out with the wires attached. If they are soldered, get a soldering iron and undo them.

When you get the replacement speaker, turn on the audio to have sound going to those wires - don't worry, just try not to touch them together - and touch the 2 wires to the 2 terminals on the back of the new speaker and rotate them until you get sound. (99% of the time it doesn't matter). Twist/Solder them in place and screw it back it. You're good to go!

Good luck and please give me the most appropriate rating!

Respectfully,

Don

I know RadioShack used to sell speakers. When I worked there they discontinued them. I don't know if it was every store or just our local ones. Good Luck

I have a pair of jamo R909 speakers that need crossover / board replacement--- any thoughts or suggested repair options? The company has been horrific. Love the speakers, but the company doesn't s

Hi Katrina,
Yes parts are available for your R909 speakers.
firstly I am surprised that you have managed to blow both tweeters and crossovers.....there must of been some serious distortion/amplifier clipping involved there???
So a couple of things.
Can you actually see damage to the crossover boards? If so what components have been damaged? i.e board loactions and parts.
The crossover is available but they are not cheap. $1560 each (AUS)
So it would be preferable and much cheaper to repair them at board level.
Tweeters are also available.. $745.00 each (AUS)

I loaned my fender passport 300 to some friends. They said they ended up using it as a mixer on a larger system. Now one speaker works normally on one output. when i switch that same speaker and wire to...

It would appear they've blown one channel on the Amplifier and one Tweeter on your Speaker. It's more than likely that the Tweeter has blown first and overloaded the Amplifier.

The Tweeter shouldn't be a problem to replace (eBay more than likely) and you'll probably be better getting a new pair and replacing them both.

The Amplifier could be a different issue depending what Country you're in and your Technical ability?.

If you need any further assistance once you've opened the unit then just ask.

Please leave feedback

Polk rti6 tweers blown...4 speakers.....can these tweeters be repaired

It may be possible to have the tweeters repaired by Polk however if you have the skills your least expensive route would be to replace the tweeters and install them your self. I would recommend using the internet to find replacement tweeters either through Polk or possibly Ebay, or Amazon. Each tweeter has 2 wires that must be removed before uninstalling. Note the polarity and where they connect. red is + POSITIVE , BLACK IS - NEGATIVE

Mission 780s (from early 1990s) tweeter gone?

Hi there.
Do you have the make and number on the back of the magnet?
Check if the tweeter is at all available on the net!
To have it repaired is also an option.
Iceman.
