Question about Intel D845GVSR Motherboard
The battery is for CMOS, and only stores time and date, has nothing to do with checksum.
Sorry but you can't rig a cpu fan, you could just fry your cpu.
If the 20pin main power plug and you 12v atx power plug and plugged in correctly, and you cpu does not get hot within 30 seconds, you have probably fried it.
Sorry, but it sounds like there is nothing that can be done.
When ever you touch a motherboard, you are suppose to wear a anti-shock strap. You could wreck the board without one also.
