Question about Intel D845GVSR Motherboard

Intel D845EPI/D845GVSR i have an emachine 2460 uk with the intel D845EPI/D845GSVR and it wouldnt boot it would just turn on and do nothing axcept repeatidly blink the red warning light at the bottom of the mobo so i turned it off took the mobo out of the case and reset the checksum by takin the battery out and it booted up so i wanted to check my cpu because the fan had broke and it was vibrating so i tried to solve it by attaching weight to where the blade had snapped and it worked so i uplugged the 4 pin molex to 3 pin fan connecter cable but i dropped it by accident after unplugging the fan and the pins hit the hdd cage and short the mobo out so i tried to reset the checksum because that has worked in the pas when its short out from that but it did nothing i have done eveything i could but is all it does is turns on and the red warning light stays on and thats it and it isnt using the cpu because it isnt producing heat as i have took the fan off the heatsink and it doesnt heat up what so ever please help me i really want it to work again as i have no money to replace it :( please please help.

The battery is for CMOS, and only stores time and date, has nothing to do with checksum.

Sorry but you can't rig a cpu fan, you could just fry your cpu.

If the 20pin main power plug and you 12v atx power plug and plugged in correctly, and you cpu does not get hot within 30 seconds, you have probably fried it.

Sorry, but it sounds like there is nothing that can be done.

When ever you touch a motherboard, you are suppose to wear a anti-shock strap. You could wreck the board without one also.

Emachine T2885 won't start up after I cleaned it with vacuum

unplug and remove the ram and battery remove the jumper on the clear mos for 5minutes Put everything back together make sure everything is seated firmly

oon mobo thers pins that go to front finsd ones says pw stick it in eash way try new switch also ove rthose 2 pins ok to get itto light up could be bad mobo

Intel D845EPI/D845GVSR MB problem

if you can get past the POST properly and see the drive size, nothing is wrong with the drive hardware. I think XP is seeing a previous boot sector install so try first to fdisk, format and system boot the drive. This should remove any boot sector "shadows".
