Question about Proview PL926WBi 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Monitor goes blank less than a second after turning on.

I start my computer and turn it on, and everything looks fine for about 1/4 of a second and then it goes black while leaving the power light green. I can only see the screen again after turning it off and on, but that's only for another 1/4 second. What's up? Yesterday, I left my computer printing, came back 4 hours later and found my Proview monitor black. I moved my mouse and nothing happened. I tried control, alt and delete, nothing changed. I turned off my computer and back on, the monitor came on for about 3 seconds and went dark again. The whole time the computer is on, the monitor's blue light is on. I can turn the monitor's switch off and right back on and the monitor comes on and 3 seconds later goes dark.

Sounds like either there is a bad connection from the computer to the monitor, or the monitor has a faulty power regulator, causing the monitor to overheat prematurely, and shut off.

NO. It is cased by what is called Capacitor plague. Replace bad capacitors on power invertor board.

Also check out if back-light is faulty or not. There are lots of videos on youtube how to test CCFL backlight.

Screen Goes Blank

Ive seen this on other monitors. Look for a 1 and 2. Some monitors do NOT auto detect a signal, and this one might not. Look for a way to set the monitor from Digital input to VGA input. Try that and see.

Monitor is blank/dimension 2400

If you put a spare monitor on your computer and everything is fine I'd say it has an electronic problem. If the screen is still blank I would look at the video card or PC itself as the problem. Just for fun check the video cable for bent or missing pins.

Monitor is bad for sure. Try another known good monitor on your computer and if the problem stops then you know for sure the original monitor is bad. Hope this helps.

do you have an aftermarket video card. In the bios you have to tell the computer if it is looking for a agp/onboard or PCI video card. Either that or the video driver or settings are wrong Try safe mode to check

I got my rosewill flatscreen as a hand me down from my father. I've had it for several years now. Was working fine until a month ago. When I turn the computer on the screen goes black after 1/4 of a saecond. I have to turn it off and on anywhere from 10 to 20 times before it stays on. I have checked all plugs to the computer and outlets. I have absolutely no idea whats causing this.
