White Screen I take some pictures and the camera works fine. But this morning when i switched the cam to take photos i see only a white screen with the aperture and speed numbers. Read like have a bright light in front of the lens. I took some photos but just took a white screen. The LCD of the camera work fine but i see other photos that i take. The day before this begin, i have take pictures without light, in the night. Can anyone have solution or recomendation to this? I have exactly the same problem with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50. One day the camera worked perfectly - the next day both the LCD and viewfinder are completely whited out. I can view photos on the card & even take photos, which turn out to be just white. HELP!

Thanks for your advice, but the CCD problem described in the link isn't the same as mine. My screen is totally white and photos and other information are properly displayed.

Also, there is no indication that Lumix cameras are affected by the problem described in the CCD link.

The manual you link is for Pentax, not Lumix, so it's not applicable.

Can someone provide information about Lumix problems.

    Thanks.

Hi,

Normally there are two reasons for the given problem.

1). Bad or defective CCD. and/or

2). shutter not working.

in the first case the only solution is the replacement of the CCD.
Please click HERE

And in the later case sticking of shutter blade, non functioning of shutter blade will cause the problem. This can be rectified by sending it to some repairer.

Alright please give this a try before you go for the repair:
    1. Hold camera firmly in left hand.
    2. Smartly rap front of camera with knuckles of right hand on the "Fuji finepix" logo.

This trick helped most of them.I hope this will help you also.r. You can also Try this;turn camera on,squeeze case between your fingers, where
Fuji logo is,if ribbon is just loose the lcd should come back on. If
this doesn't work, take it to a local camera shop and have them fix
    it,it's a very simple fix.

    Goodluck..

White screen when taking pictures can reveiw all photos taking on all xd cards that I have took pictures on.

But how are the new pictures you take with this camera? If they are white, you probably put the camera intro manual control. Set it back to Auto and it should work fine.

hi there this is a good question but theres a good chance its fixable i have repaired two camaras with white screens this is when the ribbon cable in the cam has become damaged or not conected properly if the screen is in one peice there a good chance the screen isnt damaged , the only other problem is it could have liquid ingres this is where damp gets inside the camera from taking if out side in the cold from a warm room and vise versa and the components in the camera have become damaged by dampness which will prob lead you in bying a new cam

Camera screen is white when turned on

the problem is not with the screen as you can see other photos and menu

it may be with the image sensor or lens

White Screen

I have Fuji FinePix 2650 Digital camera with same problem. I can almost guarantee this is not a firmware problem. I went mountain biking a few months ago and take pictures. I take out camera and turn on. I get lines then white screen. I banged on camera and fixed it. Later a few weeks ago I turn it on and white screen. i beat this thing and get bad menu selection screen for a moment then white again. It takes pictures well and talk to computer no problem but no LCD picture. I thinking it is loose connection for LCD. Send it for repair or if you seek adventure try to fix it yourself!
