My relatively new Coby flat screen tv/dvd combo has no picture
My Coby flat screen tv/dvd combo is almost brand new. I bought it and place in a spare bedroom, it has been played less than 50 hours. It now has no picture. I have taken it to 2 separate repair shops and they both say that the repair part is unavailable. Can this really be true?

Sounds like The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

i have lhd4033d rca tv dvd combo. was having sensor problems with my remote. bought a new one. still not working. took front screen off to find out that I had two wires broken. now the problem is solved. tv works fine.
Howdy, If you want good sound from a Coby TV you need external speakers. Coby is one of the lowest end producers of televisions and are notorious for poor sound. Good news is that for what you saved by buying a coby, you are still ahead after buying external speakers and amp (often called home theater system, some have built in DVD player). The LCD inverter board is dead.That why u not getting a backlight to the LCD screen to get a picture.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish LCD inverter for the replacement.It a long board.
