Hi. Sounds like stuck or worn motor brushes. You can check this by testing the motor resistance with a multi-meter.
Most scooters have a small black plastic cap that screws into the brush holder to keep the brushes in. If these caps come loose then the brushes arc on to the side of the brush holder and get stuck. Un screw these caps and remove the brushes. You can free up the brushes by giving them a light filing on 1 or 2 sides. Be careful screwing in the caps as they can crack easily.
Good luck. Neil.

Rascal 245. wont work. new batteries. i wired srtraight and motor works. power going to the box under seat but not out

The motor controller may be bad. If the battery charger is connected to the charge port , the scooter won't move even if the charger is not plugged into the wall.

My electric scooter hesitates, then goes, hesitates, then goes without letting up on the throttle

Going and Slowing is usually a problem with the throttle pot. They are often easy to fix yourself with a bit of WD40 once you have found out where the throttle pot is on your machine. Sometimes they have to be replaced, but fortunately the part is quite cheap. You didn't say what brand your scooter is, but Pride scooters are known for throttle pot problems.

Rally scooter parts

The click sound is likely the electric brake releasing. If the brake is working and the scooter wont roll, then you engage it and you can push the scooter then you have a motor or motor wiring problem.
The Pride Rally is an older model whose electronics do not verify the motor is working prior to allowing the scooter to start. Please disconnect the motor wiring and check the motor's electrical resistance. It should read less than 3 ohms on a meter. If it doesn't, pull, clean and or replace the motor brushes if its a serviceable unit. If not - you may need a new motor - especially if the reading of the motor winding is over 3 ohms.

Honda scv 100 won't electric start, but the lights work fine. How do I fix it?

Check the starter relay in the battery compartment. Look at the relays terminals and clean it, test it by means of activating the electric starter, a clicking sound should be heard, if not replace the relay. If there is a clicking sound and motor would not run, the starter motor have a problem.
Try Youtube for video repairing of that starter. just type the model and problem of your scooter in their search box.
Hope that helps you out.
Thanks for using FixYa!

I have a Pride Legnd..the scooter started loseing speed, I would adj the speed pot and the unit would stop, adjust back down and unit would run, but slow. I left the speed speed controller alone and unit...

hi, first you need to check the connections to the batteries then to the motor controller, and don't dismiss the speed pot, disconnect the speed pot and try a normal 5K pot inplace of it, if the scooters responds you find the problem just a case of getting the right speed pot. Check the freewheel switch, normally it located on the motor side.

Pride mobility scooter wont move you can hear the brake click off when the throttle is pushed but the motor does not start

hi, that noise could be a relay clicking off inside the motor controller because the brake on the motor has failed to release,

It quite a common problem and the only way to be 100% sure is try a replacement brake unit.

Ok, I feel really stupid, but i'm trying to start my partners Aprilia Habana (i can't find this model in the drop down options, so have called it something else!) scooter as a surprise and don't know how...

Most scooters need the rear brake lever holding in for the starter motor to work. If it is not as simple as this the carb may require cleaning out as the bike has stood for some time.

Rascal scooter mo 655 motor stops going up hills

the batteries could be the problem, is it possible to try some other batteries, silly question , how steep is this hill ? remember scooters cannot climb steep hills as the motor will shut down due to the increased load.

1 Year old batteries ok ? but if they get used on a non daily basis and are not fully charged after use, I would question the batteries but again the motor could be overloading,

How much do you weight ? sorry for the personal question but it all loads the motor and that increases the current and that will cause the motor controller to shut it down.

Scooter has full charge but still won't go.

It probably means that the connections or wiring from your battery are loose or broken. When you add the extra current required to run the motors, the voltage is being lost. Monitor the battery voltage with a meter while trying to drive the scooter will prove this.
