Remote control doesn't work (tried replacing lithium battery)

Thanks - phone number doesn't work but found website. Just didn't love the $20 + $8 shipping when I could probably buy a whole new DVD player for the same amount. Do you think it's a mistake to try Ebay?

    Thanks!

What is the model number of your DVD player and your remote control?

Also, is it possible that you have replaced your battery with a rechargeable that was shipped without charge? It may just need to complete a charge cycle.

Or is your difficulty that the remote indicates that it is transmitting, (some remotes have an LED that will light up when a button is pushed), but it doesn't control your DVD player. Is it a universal remote that has forgotten the control codes for your device due to the loss of power, and now needs to be reprogrammed?

We can help, but the more information you provide the more accurate we can be.

Hi.

Programming an universal remote for Trutech is a difficult task. The company is out of business, and the codes for most models are not available online. Better getting a replacement remote.

Check if the model is listed here:discount replacement Trutech tv remote
or try calling Star-lite Consumer Electronics at 1(800)321-5976 7am-3pm central time, they sell the remotes for $25.

How to remove battery digital picture frame

I believe the only battery you have to replace is in the Remote Control ? The picture frame itself does not have a battery .. only the A/C connection.

To Install or Replace the Remote Control Battery :

1. Hold the Remote Control with the control buttons facing downward.
2. While pressing down on the ridged area of the battery cover, pull the tray out.
3. Place a "CR2025" Lithium battery on the tray with the positive "+" end facing toward you.
4. Close the tray.

Hope this helps.

Vizio remote xrv1tv doesn' t work. it doesn't do nothing. i replaced batteries.what can i do? used to work perfect almost 2 years. do i need to set up the control? how? thanks

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. If found no infrared emission, check its battery compartment, and clean the battery contacts. If battery contacts have been accumulated with dust or dirt, the remote won't work, as there will be no supply to its internal circuit. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/. Check this link. It has one post, that describes how to check and repair a remote control. Pull up older posts there.

Changed batteries, now won't control power

It is possible you are using the wrong type of battery. A lot of electronics require you to use either Lithium-Ion or less powerful ones. I had this happen once by putting in batteries that were the right size, but were meant for more powerful devices. If you have a cheap set of the right size batteries laying around that are a different type, try those.

Why doesn't trunk open with remote

If you have never replaced the remote's battery, it may be time. The 'coin' type batteries do live long but not forever and mfr.s typically suggest that the lithium cells have a 'shelf life' (unused) of more than five years.
I don't know the construction of your remote so don't know if the battery is user-replaceable or not and if not, the dealers usually take advantage of customers when they can. The batteries alone are cheap costing a few dollars at worst.
If you have the 2nd remote stashed somewhere, you might try it if it has not been in use. Even then, the battery may quickly be depleted in the spare too.

My remote won't set to the tv I tried pressing the set button and it didn't work then I replaced the batteries to see if that would work but it didn't and now I don't know what to do please...

Hello
You might have a cellphone with camera option. Set the cellphone co cemera mode, and place the remote control at about 1 feet away from its camera lens, and press each button on your remote control. Remote control emits infrared rys as we press each button, but can't be detected by human eye. Electronic cameras can detect it. If there is any infrared ray emission from your remote control you will see its image on the camera screen for each button press to your remote control. If there is image and still the Tv doesn't respond to it, The TVs' infrared snsor inside has damaged and should be replaced. If there isn't any image; check the battery contacts of the remote battery compartment first. Clean these contacts by using a piece of corborandum paper or with the tip of a razor blade. Improper battery contacts, due to rust and dust to these contacts will prevent the battery supply voltage to enter into the remote contro.
Still it doesn't work at all, the remote control is damged and should be replaced. Contact the nearest Vizio Authorised Service Cente fro original remote control. OK.
