We are already past that part of the solution. We have gone to the point of removing the center of "agitator/ or bump plate depending on
model" where there's a small cap that will come of and reveal a 7/16 screw
remove the screw, and then supposedly you should be be able to lift the entire inner
basket right out to retrieve any debris. But we can't lift that basket out - it just remains attached to the outer basket. And we've tried everything accept for turning it over and unscrewing the motor from the base of the outer basket.

    Help??

We have a Operating manual and the service manual that comes inside of the washer tucked into a plastic sleeve.

please see all of our information posted for the Cabrio WTW6600SW0 removal of agitator bump - we can not get it out of the machine, even after the bolt was removed.

These are tricky, unlike the direct drive where the whole cabinet comes off the cabrio's front panel comes off. You must flip up the control panel and remove the screws beneath and slide the top off, Then the screws that hold the front panel in place can be removed. The manual shows just waht to do with pictures and very good instructions. Print it out and keep it near the washer for repair purposes because I have limited space on the site. I will keep it there for a while. I am including my personal copy of a technical repair manual below:

Hi,

To access the washer there are a couple clips between the top of the washer and the front panel that holds the panel on. There is one on each side. The clips are mounted on the cabinet and push down into slots on the front panel. Press in on these clips with a putty knife (you will be pushing inward on the clip) and pull the top of the panel away from the cabinet when the clips are released. The bottom of the panel sits on a couple clips on the bottom of the washer. Pull out on the panel and lift off the clips at the bottom. You now have access to the operating components of this washer

My whirlpool cabrio top loading washer with corner dispensers had some coins trapped in the bottom of the basket. I can hear the coins and some water. When the washer goes into spin it apparently throws...

You have to disconnect all wire connectors, inner basket, both pumps & Then unclasp the 4 shock rods then remove the whole inner assembly. Then turn the inner assembLy upside down & every which way until they all fall out. Like shaking quarters out of your piggy bank.

At the end of the spin cycle, my Kenmore Washing Machine makes a grinding noise like an out of balance brake drum. What could be the problem

If your washer model number starts with 110. it's a whirlpool washer. Whirlpool use a spin tube with two notches in it. There is a block assembly that holds the inner basket down on to the spin tube. This can be accessed by removing the top of the agitator and take out the 7/16 screw. Lift the agitator to expose the top of the spin tube. The tube is stripped on top where the basket sits. When the washer stops spinning, the inner basket keeps moving. That is the noise you hear. Replace the spin tube and possibly the block.

Lint filter

Hi Bob... You probably have a buildup of crud in the outer tub itself, or perhaps someone washed a rug and the backin has come off and is all in the outer tub and little by litter it is cloggin up the water pump. I would suggest that you pull the inner basket out of the machine and do a good cleaning of the machine. It's rather easy to remove that inner basket- you only need a phillips screw driver!
1. Pop out the two plastic white caps near the front/top (under the washer lid but on the top of the washer) and remove each screw.
2. Remove the agitator by popping the fabric softener cap out and simply reaching down in the center and unscrewing the white plastic "tee" nut that secures it to the agitator shaft and lift the agitator up and out.
3. Lift the machine's top up (it lifts up just like the lid does)
4. Unsnap the "tub collar" from the washer tub, (requires no tools!)
5. Grab ahold of that entire inner basket and lift it right up and out of the machine. (you may want a helper to hold the machine top back for you)

Now with that basket out, you can see what you need to do as far as any kind of build-up. You can wipe clean the inner plastic tub and remove any lint/rug backing/crud you see, and you can take that basket and clean it up in a laundry tub, of it is warmer where you live, take it outside and spray it down with a garden hose. The underside is probably going to filthy. The outer side of the inner tub is almost like a cheese grater, it might have some lint snagged in the holes. Just spray it down and clean everything up. Put it back together and you're good to go again.
It takes me about 10 minutes tops to pull the inner basket. Fisher Paykel's are very easy to work on.

Sock stuck in outer tub whirlpool cabrio

youll need to "pop" the main top.. then unsnap the outer ring that cvers the outer tub. if you look at the center of "agitator/ or bump plate depending on model" theres a small cap that will come of fand reveal a 7/16 screw remove the screw, and then oyull be able to lift the entire inner basket right out to retrieve any debris.

Model 80 Sears Kenmore washine(Remove inner basket)

under the agitator youll see a lock nut appox 2-3in, around "locking" the inner basket to the outer basket. although they do sell a spanner wrench to remove this nut, A decent pipewrench and little muscle will get it loose, after that the tub will pull right out. assuming youve taken off the outer tub gasket cover
