I've just had a similar problem. I fixed it by removing the large panel on the back of the inside of the freezer. I found a large build up of ice at the bottom of the freezer which seems to have developed because the drain hole at the bottom of the freezer was blocked. I defrosted the ice, cleared the drain and now the freezer is working fine.

Water seeps out of freezer side of fridg onto the floor, I have totally remover the water line going to the ice maker and it still has water seeping out. It builds up Ice on the bottom of the freezer and...

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back/bottom of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curtain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the fridge is because the water has been leaking into the freezer and down the vent into the fridge instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you need any further assistance. The unit is dripping water from the opening in the ceiling of refridgerator

The drain at the bottom of the freezer under the coils is clogged. Remove Icemaker if you have one, remove bottom floor of freezer, remove back panel of freezer. Use hairdryer to melt ice. ALL ICE MUST BE REMOVED. Use hot water and a turkey baster to get ice out of drain hole located about middle under coils. Be patient, do not chip ice with sharp tool. After ice is removed pour hot water down drain hole. Water must come out in drain pan under refrigerator(you may have to take front grille off to get to pan)

If Ice returns after a few weeks, you need to look at defrost thermostat which is usually clipped on cold coil at back of freezer. This part or the defrost timer could be defective.

The refigerator does not get cold. Long term ice forms in Freezer blocking through holes. When first pugged in seems to circulate air to refrigerator

I have a maytag MSD2754GR, the freezer bottom is all iced

The drian hole has become stopped up and ice has accumulated in the the drian hole. You will need to unplug the fridge and remove the cover on the back (located at the bottom, 6 screws). On the freezer side there is a drian hole with a rubber 90 and a clear line that runs to the drain pan. Remove line and unstop. Don't not put the line back on yet.

Now for the fun part, remove the basket and the two bottom shelves from the freezer. Half way up the back there are 2 screws that need to be removed. After removing screws pull up on the top cover to so you can remove the bottom cover. The bottom cover maybe froze to the coils and to the inside drain pan. Break the ice with a butter knife, and remove cover ( do not hit the coils). Now you need to break the ice that is froze to the the pan and under it. Once you have remove all the ice you will see the drain hole, use a small pointed object to break ice that is in drain hole. Now you can put the drain line back on and make sure that the other end is in the drain pan under the fridge. Now reassemble the fridge and plug it back up.

It took me about 20 minutes to do this.

Hope this helps.

Leak

drain line is clogged. when the frig defrosts the water drains through a tube down to the bottom of the frig near the compressor where it evaporates away. look on the back of the unit to see if the tube runs down the back. follow it to the end. you need to blow backwards through that tube. let me know if this helps.

Water leaking onto floor

Angels, sounds like your defrost drain is frozen over. When the refrigerator is going into defrost it's draining through the front instead of the drain pan. You can remove the shelves and peel off the back cover and clear the drain by pouring hot water on the frozen drain hole. If you have a baster of some sort you could try to squirt the hot water through the venting on the bottom of the panel. Another way to to point a hair dryer on the drain hole. The best method is to remove the shelves and panel and make sure the drain is clear. Catriver..post back.
