I have a dell dimension 4500 with the above as drive D. I frequently cannot read audio cds for some reason and have decided to buy another drive have you any advice on compatability re connections/size etc. please
Hi,
I,m not sure whether this is a desktop or laptop your refering To ??
most desktop-tower cases, will house any drive usually 5.5"
These are common purchase, the only difference being Single Or Dual Layer. depending on what you want the drive to Do. i.e read and write CDs Or And Dvds ?
If it is a desktop PC. then the connectors will be the same for all models. A 40 or 80 strand IDE Ribbon Cable. And 4 pin Molex Power Connector.
As for the Quality, i,d suggest Pioneer 112. reads and writes more formats than most DVDs.
Hope this helps you out.

Not to long ago, I tried to burn a CD and all of the sudden my computer
tells me that I no longer have a CD Drive or that I need a CD Drive to
Burn or Rip music onto my computer. I tried the Divx registry thing and
that was a no go. only other programs I put on recently was Real
player. I've only had my computer for about a year, so I don't think
that the CD drive would **** out on me so quickly. Any help will be
appreciated.
