I would first try the cycling switch,located on the element case that turns on and off the element for the various heat cycles you set,they can get erratic after time and cause either too hot or too cold cycling of the heating element, if not this component,then, i would check,if an electronically controlled dryer(i.e. keypad controlled) try opening up the rear panel by the control and check carefully the wiring and "flat-ribbon"cables that supply and send signals from the board(s) and check for cracks in these cables too,as they are subject to heat and can crack internally and become intermittent,as for all said,also, check the hi-limit switch, resettable switch, all on the element case for possible problems if the other item does not cure the issue

Hi,
Since the dryer is not heating in any mode it is possible that your dryer isn't heating because its heating element is defective. Heating elements cannot be repaired. In your has ceased to function properly, you will have to replace it. Open your dryer's cabinet and locate the heating element so that you can test it.

For some testing help please check the bellow mentioned links:

LG Dryer low heat doesn't work

It may be as simple as checking your lint filter.
If you use fabric softeners sheets, they tend to clog the lint filter holes. Washing it with soap and water will restore it back to normal and will allow the circulation that the dryer needs to properly dry your clothes.

Dryer only heats on medium and high settings and the medium setting is very hot. Does not heat on low at all.

Sound to me like you need to check the vent for proper air flow. Make sure the pipe to the wall aint kinked. Take it apart and clean it up real good. My homemade crappy movie;

Kennmore Elite HE4 no heat on low or extra-low setting

Assuming this is a gas dryer, it is likely the igniter has failed. The igniter plate has to heat up to glowing in order to heat up the thermocouple that turns on the gas valve.
