Question about Rinnai RER-55AS 55-Cup Rice Cooker
If this is a new rice cooker this shouldn't happen.
Maybe someone bumped the rice cooker while in cooking cycle.
If this is a rice cooker 2yrs or older, you should replace the Thermal Sensing Unit.

You might be able to clean the top of the thermo sensing unit and the bottom of the pot to get it working till you can get a new tsu
