Sony CD player model cx355 says Table Error and makes a terrible sound inside like it's trying to turn the revolving cd holder and it's gears are stripped.

  • Anonymous Feb 06, 2010

I didn't push on them. We were playing a CD and it started skipping, so I tried to open the little window in the front to clean off the cd. It opened but then the gear-stripping sound started and it wouldn't let me move the turntable holding the cds around to where the problem is.

It's very likely that your gears are stripped. They are made of plastic and are very fragile, it only takes too much of a push on the tray to cause this. However, there may be a small port on the front panel into which you can insert a paper clip and the drawer will open. Thank you, Dana

My appology, I wasn't made aware that this was a multiple cd player. If you forced open the door than the turntable may be out of syncronization. To resync. the player is a very involved process that should be handled by a professional. believe me that this is difficult to do, I have done it before and came up with a few missing hairs afterward....lol. Thank you, Dana

I am getting a table error message

Hi, the error is because the cd changer is not turning, something block it! or ther is an audio cd inside that blocks the normal function or change the "rubber belt" that the motor drives for the disc system changer!, an other problem could be that is not reading the audio cd's.
If you do chek this shure you solve this problem

the sensor for the table cna't read the table movement. it's an optic sensor and it might be dirty or obstructed. you can open up the unit and blow out any dust with canned air. check the sensor for damage.
