Extremely loud fan...shaky picture

For the past two months the fan has been louder than normal. A couple of days ago the fan got extremely loud and the picture became shaky...like it was about to go out. Finally, it did. You could still hear the sound but the screen went to total blackness. Now when I come home...I can turn on the tv, but after about 30 minutes the same thing happens again. Is this the light engine...or a problem with the cooling fan? Has this happened to anyone else...and if anyone knows whats wrong..what do I need to fix it? Thanks so much for the help guys....

HERE ARE A COUPLE OF STEPS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WHEN IT OCCURS:
1. clean the filter an fans regularly (every 4-6 weeks or less) to provide an air flow
2: oil the fan bearings annualy with vegetable oil or motor oil
3:regularly change the lamp, it loses intensity as it continues to age, and it produces more heat *** it's arc blackens as the heat reflects back inti the lamp, there have been a few cases of exploding lamps as they were dangerously worn, and lost almost all intensity, check the arc is in good shape every 4 months, this should increase the life of the television aswell, I had a DLP TV that I did these checks with, and it was over warranty by 5 years before it gave up and died!

I would suggest to replace the fun to keep the light running cooler, the reason you loose the video after a period of time is because the fun is not providing enough cooling.
If the fun is noise it means the bearings inside of it are not working well anymore.
Let me know if you need more help.

Put new bulb 2 wks ago, now I have sound but no picture, hear fan running, but bulb does not come on. Turns on just fine no blinking lights at all

You have a defective bulb. Unfortunately it does happen. If you bought just the bulb, then don,t do that again. Always buy a new bulb with the housing and don\'t touch the bulb eith your hands. Most bulb sellers warrant their bulbs for at least 3 months. Some warrant for up to one year but you pay a little more, about $80-100. If you bought the $35-45 bulb (made in china) then you get what ya get. Nothing against the chinese, just the people who pay them 30 cents an hour to make a product extremely fast with no care for quality control. The chinese are hard working people. Chinese products are made to be disposable on purpose so you can buy a new something more often.

Toshiba 56HM195 56 in HD DLP Loud Buzzing and color distortion

If the sound, sounds more like a Hum with some vibration chances are the Cooling fan located behind the lamp is going bad, about $20 to repair, if its a high pitch hum most likely the Color Wheel and if thats the case about $30.
Good luck, my fan just went bad now seeing green dots everywhere, so debating on just junking it out or fixing it, with winter coming on might just breakdown and buy LCD and say the heck with DLP from now on.
Good luck to you..

I have this same issue with mine as well. It is most likely the color wheel. Unfortunately I cannot find a replacement for it.
