Yep - I've tried that quite a few times. Any other possibilities?

I see the gears and the timing number, but I didn't receive anything for installing it. It is a brother drum too.

Well, that's a developer drive error, the best thing would be to check all those cartridges and that the drum unit is seated properly. Make sure all the toners are seated and no paper scraps left inside. The drum unit only has to be off a little bit to give you that error.

Nothing else in the service manual, I'd need to have it on the bench to tell more of what's happening. The manual only says it's a developer drive motor error and to turn the machine off and on again.

I would try the old supplies you took out to see if the error has anything to do with the new drum and toners. Check your install paperwork, each gear on the side where the toners go has a timing mark that needs to be set to turn the drums in sequence. There should be a note packed with the drum assembly.

Each drum unit has a number on the side, you rotate each unit till the number lines up with the arrow on the frame. You rotate in the forward rotation.

Solusi code eror 4F on brother DCP-145C printer

Some Brother laser printers have separate consumables - the toner cartridge and the drum unit. From time to time you may need to replace only the drum unit and not the toner cartridge.

The error LED lights up, or an error message shows on a flat screen panel, when the drum unit is near the end of its working life. Use the drum unit until you have a print quality problem, then replace the drum unit with a new one.

Hi I have Brother dcp 350 printer. I have the error 46 unable to print/clean i cant get the printer back to normal functions. I have change the inks (all) and I am still get the same error message 46....

The messages unable to print, unable to clean, unable 36, error 46 and error 32 are all print head errors.

1. Remove all the ink cartridges from the machine
2. Clean the contacts on the cartridges as well as inside the machine itself with a small amount of warm water or alcohol on a cotton swab until no ink comes off on the swab.

Note: if any of the other cartridges are low, empty, leaking or bulging replace them

3. Then turn off the machine and unplug it for 70 seconds
4. Plug it back it and wait for the insert cartridges message
5. Insert the cartridges and check to see if the problem is still there. If it is it means the print head has failed and in order to fix this the print head inside the printer needs to be replaced. The print head is the part of the printer that puts ink from the cartridges onto the page

Unfortunately this can sometimes cost more to replace then the machine itself.

My printer comes up with an error saying I need to slide the green tab in the drum/cartridge back and forth several times and return the green tab back to where it belongs. I have done this several times...

Moving the GREEN TAB moves the toner-ink inside the cartridge, to more uniformly spread it.

Since the toner-cartridge is nearly empty, you probably need to replace the toner-cartridge with a "full" one.

I changed the ink in my printing and now everything it prints is blurry.

It seems simple enough, but this is one of the most effective ways of fixing printer cartridge error. Mostly, printer cartridge error occurs when the printer head is unable to identify the cartridge properly. And the basic reason behind this is that the cartridge is improperly attached.

To reattach the cartridge check the following steps :

turn on the lid of the printer and then remove the cartridge from the printer head.

Check the cartridge to make sure that there are no scratches or other damaged parts that can contribute to a printer cartridge error report.

Take note that the cartridge should not be left open for more than 30 minutes; otherwise the ink will start to dry up and the cartridge will get clogged.

I keep getting an error message- unable to clean....I just bought and installed new ink cartridges, and the machine is still having trouble - I cannot print at all now. There seems to be no way to clear...

The waistinktank has to be replaced. DO NOT only reset the code but change the waistinktank! Otherwise ink will flow into the machine and will cause serious damages!!!!!!!! See link how to do that: http://www.fixya.com/support/t202485-cleaning
