If there is additional ram slots it will definitely support but the ram speed should be the same,like if u use the ram as 133mhz ,u should use the ram with same speed .

The motherboard has 2 memory slots with each slot allowing up to 1GB modules of DDR PC2700, DDR PC3200, DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1GB per slot. Do not mix RAM speeds.

As for hard drives, the board has the capacity of:

PATA (Parallel) - 2 x ATA100 4 Dev. Max
SATA 1.5 Gb/s - 2

I would assume that the 500GB drive you have is a SATA drive. and the 80GB as PATA. If that is the case, then the two drives would be on different controllers and would work in the system. Typically, it is recommended that the SATA drives is the main hard drive holding your OS.

As always, you would need an open bay in your computer case as well as adequate power to the PWS to complete the installation.

I have an asus k8v-mx motherboard running only 512 mb of ram what type of ram would suit this mother board and could i fit a 1 x 2mb ram instead of 2 x 1mb?

Dear Sir,

*********** board is Asus old p4 Mother board.It supports maximum 1GB RAM of DDR 400(DDR1). According to your post your computer having only one 512 MB working RAM. If you want good purformance you can upgrade your computer by purchasing another 512MB DDR400 RAM and install it on another RAM slot.If your computer have only one working RAM slot,you can purchase 1GB DDR400 RAM & install it on older RAM place. I think it solves your problem.if you have any problem come back with more information. I will try to assist you more accurately.

good luck

New ram memory on dell dimension celeron trying to

You should check with the folks at Dell since whoever wrote their technical manuals for this machine can't do basic math. There are 2 memory slots and each can handle a maximum capacity of 512MB, yet they claim the maximum capacity for the machine is 2GB instead of 1GB. Using 512MB modules would probably work.

Need to add RAM

Hello,

Located here is the actual specifications of your W3052.

http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html?cat=Desktops&subcat=W%20Series&model=W3052

The DDR means "double data rate", SDRAM is "synchronous dynamic random access memory" and DIMM is for "dual inline memory module". These are the way manufacturers describe the specific speed, type, and packaging of the memory. You need to get the correct combination for your computer in order for it to function properly. The PC2100 is NOT correct, at the very least it will slow your computer down, and possibly will not work at all. You should use PC2700.

If you wish to add another 512MB taking your computer to 1GB total, then you only need 1 module, a 512MB, like the one that came in the computer. Do not purchase a 1GB module expecting it to work properly with the one already there. It probably won't. If you want to max out your computer's memory taking it to 2GB, then you will need to purchase 2 each 1GB modules, and remove the existing 512MB module.

When you go to the computer store, you ask for either "one five-hundred-twelve megabyte, PC2700, DDR, SDRAM DIMM memory module" or "two one-gigabyte, PC2700, DDR, SDRAM DIMM memory modules".

The part numbers from, Kingston, one of the major add-on memory makers are shown here:

512MB = KVR333X64C25/512
1GB = KVR333X64C25/1G

Can i run ati radeon HD3650 512mb on asus k8N motherboard

firstly you need to make sure *********** board has a PCIe slot or a AGP... this is where your ATI HD3650 will go...see the graphic 512mb has nothing to with your main system RAM which is also 512mb.. so they wont be any problems as such and both will work together without any problems... but i suggest you to add another 512mb to your system RAM.. the difference between DDR and DDR2 is that... DDR2 is a bit newer and is faster in terms of memory read/write/access... do let me know if u have any futher problems....

Memory problem

It's possible that the new RAM is incompatible with your motherboard. Check board specs to see list of supported RAM & check against what you have. Hope this helps.

Sounds like the RAM is not compatible. Try another 1 GB chip from same manufacturer & see if that helps.

Upgrade from 512MB to 1GB

The specs on the memory are correct, so you purchased the correct type of memory for this motherboard. If your getting no video when you power on with the 1gb stick, I would be willing to bet the 1gb stick is bad. Can you return it and try another stick?
