Question about Fisher Paykel Eco IWL16

2 Answers

Fisher/Paykell Model IWL 16 does not do spin cycle 1 completely and leaves water in tub, then keeps trying to do spin cycle 1 many times and then "Too many suds" and stops and beeps. When this happens going manually to spin cycle 2 it doesn't completely spin out and the clothes are still wet.

Why does it pump out on the wash cycle? If it was a defective pump it wouldn't pump.

  • henryhaggert Mar 04, 2010

There was a sock in the inlet of the pump. Instead buying a new pump for $150. I took off the aggitator and removed the drum and pulled out the sock. The clue was the small stream (size of pencil) being pumped. IF it was the pump why would it still be pumping!!!!!

Are you using the correct amount of the correct detergent? You might need to also clean out the pump or pump housing. Under the bottom the pump can be removed and cleaned by releasing the locking tab and twisting it a hair. Get all the objects out and reconnect the pump then use the correct detergent and the right amount. The motor can detect a suds lock condition. Before it declares an error however it will attempt to correct the problem by doing a few mini cycles. If suds are still a probo then she shuts down and declares an error. Clean out the soap dispenser and pump and you might save a service fee. I have an older manual HERE

It would keep trying to pump to clear up the suds error.

You appear to have a failing water pump. Have a technician examine the pump for excessive wear or damage.

I cannot find your mothers IWL16 model, but I have found various similar machines that are the same phase as your GWL11 machine, the electronics in there although different are compatible, you can swap the drain pumps, there almost universal, avoid the drive shaft machine, fix the other one If you want further help, post a photo of both pcb's (the electronics) After swapping your machine will stil require programming which is simple enough

Washer beeps at the end of each cycle, must be advanced manually

Hi Steve just read your posting. Now when it starts to beep a series of lights will light up.Starting from left to right they are numbered 1st on the left=128 next is=64 next is=32 next is =16 next is= 8 next is = 4 next is = 2 next is = 1. So the lights are numbered from left to right 128--64--32--16-- 8-- 4--2--1. now with this information look at the lights that are lit add up the value of the lit lights and reply back and i will look in my service manual and tell you what part or parts are faulty. hope this helps.

Washing machine won't spin in the spin cycle. The model # is GWL11US the serial # is EYN654081 I tried to get the date of purchase and couldn't ascertain that info. CAN YOU HELP!

check that ALL of the water has been pumped out you could have a partally blocked drain pump causing the water level pressure switch not to be satisfied that the tub is completly drained. If tub is NOT completly drained it wont spin but it will usually give you an error code try drain spin to see if that works draining it a second time

Water pipes vibrate very loudly when the washer fills with water

Possibly a bad inlet valve solinoid that is not opening completely. Unfortunately you will need to have a F/P tech out to look at it.

Our washer did the same but it was after I took the excess drain hose and pushed it into the drain in the wall. I thought it looked "more tidy" In doing so I created a siphon effect. Once I pulled the excess hose back out it was fine.

Fisher and Paykel Washer Leaking

For those with water on floor after wash, check my post on "eco smart won't drain, smells hot". It could be something clogging drainage area at very bottom of the tub. I couldn't see the sock that was stuck in my FP's drain when I looked from the top between the white outer tub and the wash tub--everything looked fine. Then I removed the black motor/white plastic housing piece--Tip back washer and you should see this black electric motor/white housing on bottom. see my post for how to remove and check for plugged drain. it's really pretty easy.

don't know about outer tub holes, but glad i don't have that problem.

i hate my fisher paykel washer/dryer. i can't wait to sell this house--i will leave them here and get a new front load Duette for my next house!

My maytag atlantis mav6200 only spins on whites cycle

Try running the machine in another cycle the very next time you use it. I'm trying to determine if this is machine fault something else.

If you just used the machine wait for about 1/2 hour before starting it again.
