First try disconnecting your pc from power cable for 10 minutes and disconnecting scanner from pc. Then connect back everything and see if it works (this is called hard start). If this does not work then disconnect 77600 from pc. Uninstall and re-install all xerox drivers and software.

good luck

Are you sure it is not a NVRAM error you are recieving?

If yes, remove the IMAGING UNIT.
Close the door and Power On.
Msg gone? If yes, replace IMAGING UNIT.

If no, remove the FUSER unit.
Close the door and Power On,
Msg gone? If yes, replace FUSER.

If not, it is the ENGINE BOARD.

Xerox phaser 7400 giving error - replace imaging unit- what solution now?

Did it specify a color you should replace? The machine has 4 image units (CMYK) each with a different part#. Replacing them is easy, no tools required. Open the top door, lift out the entire image unit, move the toner over to the new unit, and lower the image unit. Here are the part #'s for the 7400 for each color. Iteminc.com has these online.
C - 108R00647
M - 108R00648
Y - 108R00649
K - 108R00650
Good luck, hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa!

Xerox phaser 7760 saying "non-phaser imaging unit"

There is a snippet on the Xerox website to solve imaging unit recognition problems, link below. http://www.support.xerox.com/support/phaser-7760/downloads/engb.html?operatingSystem=winxp&fileLanguage=en_GB Usually this problem only occurs if the NVRAM has been reset or the engine board has been replaced without backing up the NVRAM. You can download the snippet to your printer through Centreware or by downloading the 'File Downloader' utility from the same page above.
Hope this helps.

Replaced Imaging Unit in Xerox Phaser 6200N printer. Error Message says to reinstall or reseat. Have done this several times; now the imaging unit cannot be removed.

Do not know about not being able to remove the imaging unit but the problem with the printer wanting you to reinstall or reseat is a fairly common problem with this printer.
On the left hand side of the printer there is a nylon gear and rack that shoves the toner arms into the imaging unit. The rack and gear will sometimes strip and this causes the problem.
The solution is to take the left hand panel off the printer and realign the gear and rack. The gear pulls off and you can reposition the rack so that it is in the correct position.

Xerox phaser 6265 displays engine service 8300

From the service manual:

Code 83: Engine NVRAM is corrupted or receiving wrong data from a CRUM.

1 Cycle power to the printer. Does the error still appear? If so, go to step 2.

2 Remove and reinstall the Imaging Unit and Fuser Assembly. Does the error recur
after the power has been turned off and then on? If so, go to step 3.

3 Replace the imaging unit. Does the error still occur? If so, go to step 4.

4 Replace the fuser assembly. Does the error still occur? If so, to to step 5

5 Replace the EEPROM board. Does the error still occur? If so, replace the Engine Control Board.

Phaser 7300 asking for Imaging Unit

There is a spring on the waste section of the imaging unit that often pops off. When that happens it will not clear the replace imaging unit message. There is also a software patch on Xerox.com. Takes some searching to find.

Xerox Phaser 7300 Error U20

1. Contaminated or damaged Imaging unit contacts. - Remove and clean the contacts and inspect for damage.
TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS AND HINTS:
Imaging Unit Failure message occurs because the printer cannot detect imaging unit motion, up-and-down. The Transfer Belt drives this motion, and the Drum Contact Assembly detects it. 1. Swap the Imaging Unit Cotact blocks between two imaging unit positions. If the problem follows the Contact block, it should be replaced. 2. Open the Top Cover and defete the top cover interlock switch. The color imaging units should raise in succession, cyan, magenta, then yellow, and then all lower at once. If one or more imaging units do not raise smoothly or drop prematurely then replace the Transfer Belt assembly.
