My computer started to stutter 2 days ago, when i was trying to get BattleField 2142 working. With ''stutter'' i mean that my mouse jumps from spot to spot when i move it, my music goes all stuttery. this happens for a sec or 2 and then it just went away. It usually happens when im surfing the net and playing muic at the same time. But gaming is no problem.
It never happend before, it just came out of nowhere. i checked all temperatures of my computer which are fine. drivers are OK. and i dont know anything more about it.
i hope you guys can help me

Jonathan
PS. IT IS WINDOWS 7, but fixya doesnt know Win7 yet...

    Thanks for your reply.

1: it is a desktop computer, no laptop.

2: my pc is a high-end gaming system. It is not the best, but it still is a pretty powerfull system. My computer is able to run Windows 7. I just ran an program from MC to check if my system could take it, and it should not be a problem. i have used Win7 for 1/2 year.

The stutter has also move to the point when games are loading. So when my computer gets busy, it stutters for a sec or 2 and the moves on.

Hello Jonathan,

Was Windows 7 the operating system that came with

your System? If not, What I would advise you to do

is this:

Check HP website to find out if your Laptop supports

Windows 7.

If it doesnt, then Jonathan, I would advise you to

PLEASE change it back to the operating system

that came with your system, or better still, the

operating system that it supports.

The reason is because that is exactly what I faced

two weeks ago....

I changed the operating system for my PC to

Windows 7 ( Even though it doesnt support it)...it

worked fine for a while, then later it started to develop

faults after a while...like stuttering, mouse pointer

moving round the screen, graphics displaying

improperly...etc.

I first thought it wasn't a big deal, so I fixed it by

repairing the drivers, and it workied fine once again...

In short Jonathan....Now as I'm typing, the system is

with HP Service Centre for they have to change the

Mainboard Outrightly!

So PLEASE, if your system was not specified

Windows 7, use the Operating Systems that it

supports.

But if it is the one that came with it, then let me know

so as to tell you some quick fixes.

Hope this helps you out.

Goodluck and thanks for using fixya!

Is the MSI-K9N SLI-Platinum (MS-7250) capable of running an HD capable video card?

I would recommend upgrading your RAM to 2GB or even 4GB before investing into HD video card. It might be jerky. Your processor should be ok for it as it is.
