SOURCE: carbs were removed and cleaned. now starts hard and does not idle

sounds like carbs not cleaned right, oh try changing fuel filter, does fuel pump run constantly. if you cant hear it you can feel it, up behind the ignition. Berrymans B12 fuel additive works wonders. double dose add to gas run bike til hot then let stand overnight, pray a lot and try it again.
here is a free pdf service manual too

thats mine

Have a ploaris 400 2005 turns on runs great for bout 20 minutes then shuts down. wait bout 15 minutes will start and run again for a short time. What is the problem

most likely a fuel issue. has it been sitting up ? if so if its got a carb it prob gummed up, pour some seafoam into the gas tank with fresh gas and run it, try and keep it running with the throttle, it might clear some varnish out the carb if it not too bad, if tht dont work and it is a carb engine then the carb will have to be removed and cleaned. if it a FI engine then you got a bad full pump more than likely

I have a 2001 polaris RMK 700. It seems to use a lot of gas. It is like it is running on 1.5 cylinders. It doesn't have alot of zip and is real sluggish when it is running. We have gone through the...

Certainly the carbs should be treated as a pair and so when one is suspected both should be checked. The cylinders will be unable to perform equally unless both carbs are tuned equally and synchronised at idle and at various throttle openings.

As part of the checking process it is important to ensure both cylinders are capable of performing equally. A compression test has limited use and a cylinder efficiency test is better. Injecting compressed air into the cylinder would prove the effectiveness of the valve seats and piston rings. A small amount of leakage of the inlet valve seat would make little difference to a compression test but it would make a great deal of difference to the way the cylinder performs.

Another important check is the valve clearances and also the ignition timing if it is adjustable. Some engines with twin ignition systems need to have the timing set for each cylinder.

First question since i am assuming it was just sitting around for some time if i am correct you need to pull the carb remove the float bowl and components if everything was done correctly with your rebuild the likely problem is your carb is gummed up remove everything in the carb low speed jet etc. soak everything in sea foam fuel cleaner overnight and hopefully you have some compressed air and blow out that low speed jet and passage way pay close attention that you have see fluid coming from the other end and check the jet make sure it is unclogged hold it up to the light.

one of your jets is fully or parially clogged. Remove the carb, remove the bowl from the card, then remove the jets. Spray compressed air through the holes and clean with carb cleaner. Common problem with old gas. Also clean out any varished gas from the carb bowl

If it has ever sat for more than a few months at any point, then there's a good chance that the carburetor has fuel varnish inside that has plugged up the very small internal passageways. In which case the carb will need to be completely disassembled and cleaned. Be sure to refill the tank with fresh gasoline.
If that's not the issue, then check the compression. A four cycle engine, like yours, has got to be capable of producing at least 140 psi of compression in order to idle properly. If the compression is low, adjust the valve tappet clearances. Insufficient tappet clearance is the #1 cause of low compression in four cycle engines.

2001 polaris scrambler 50. starts and runs good but bogs out when you give it gas. Assuming a carb adjustment issue. Theres only two screws on the thing can't be that hard to fiqure out.

2 jets on carb 1 idle which seems fine and the other is running/fast idle which is probably blocked also check the float isnt off its spring on 1 side this requires stripping the carb down 4 both theese solutions if you are not confident doing this then take it to some1 who is as this is a fiddly job

Compression on 2000 polaris 250 trailblazer

the fuel could be good but still it wont spit check the carbs when you throttle or kick start if thats possible if that is good try some starting fluid it should start up and the fuel pump should get out the obstruction if theres more problems it is one of many things either bad fuel pump, your fuel line is disconnected, blown headgasket idk the psi specs for the 250 but that sounds good i know for the 550s its around 120 and so on
