Unplug it,pull it out and take off the vent line and remove the back wall, you'll see the thermal fuse to the right of the duct that your lint filter slides into, part 3392519,pull one of the wires off and read it out with meter,if it's bad do a clean out on the dryer, remove the duct that the filter slides into and clean it out, blow out the vent line,i use a leaf blower to do this if it's a long run from the dryer to the outside flapper, don't forget to take out the two screws on top where the filter is to remove the duct, put it back together and remove the front and clean out the inside of dryer,do the clean out once a year for maintenance,if the fuse is good make sure you're getting 240 volts to dryer and power to motor, could have a bad timer?also check the t stats on the heater box, hope this helps

How do I get to the motor of a Kenmore 70 series model 66702690 dryer

you start with taking the top of the dryer off, then the front of the unit off. After that you will see the drum, remove the belt, after that pull the drum and you will see the motor

How do i replace the belt on my model 70 series kenmore dryer

You need to remove the dryer casing so the drum is viewable. You need to release the tension on the tensioner pulley and slide the belt off the pulley, then you can slide the belt off the drum. Replacement is the same as removal. The tensioner pulley can many times be accessed through a compartment in the rear of the dryer.

Dryer was working, quit in middle of cycle. Will

It's rather unusual for any internal failure to cause the dryer to just stop in cycle. Check the circuit breaker that supplies the dryer. It should be a double-pole breaker of at least 30 amps. Turn the breaker off and back on to ensure it is reset. Internal causes could be the motor, door switch, thermal safety switch, timer, or a broken wire.

Electric dryer

Most dryers have two fuses in them, one inline with the heater element and another thermal fuse in the main circuit. The one inline with the heater element can blow and the dryer will still run, but will not heat. If the dryer gets too hot it may blow the thermal fuse and kill power to the entire system.

Depending on your level of handiness, you may take the cover off (make sure the unit is unplugged from power) and look for a blown fuse. Most dryers have a schematic for repair somewhere on the unit, usually in the top control area.

Check your circuit breaker. Even if it doesn't look tripped reset it anyhow. Try that first.
