Question about Kenmore Dryers
I have a kenmore dryer 66702690. It quit working in the middle of a cycle. Will do nothing now. I can hear the timer working. Checked continuity of front door switch and press to start button and both are good. Checked thermostats they all seem to be good. What now???
Unplug it,pull it out and take off the vent line and remove the back wall, you'll see the thermal fuse to the right of the duct that your lint filter slides into, part 3392519,pull one of the wires off and read it out with meter,if it's bad do a clean out on the dryer, remove the duct that the filter slides into and clean it out, blow out the vent line,i use a leaf blower to do this if it's a long run from the dryer to the outside flapper, don't forget to take out the two screws on top where the filter is to remove the duct, put it back together and remove the front and clean out the inside of dryer,do the clean out once a year for maintenance,if the fuse is good make sure you're getting 240 volts to dryer and power to motor, could have a bad timer?also check the t stats on the heater box, hope this helps
