Question about Remington MS5500 Electric Shaver

1 Answer

Leaking My base is leaking the cleaning solution while it is going through the cleaning cycle. The leaking comes through the two buttons on the side of the base. How can this be resolved? I know I am not overfilling the base.

Same here, only the hose in mine is shooting it out the opening where the shaver is cradled. I can't find where the hose is supposed to be.

I do the manual cleaning, but the razor and base sensors light up anyway. Is there any chance that the cleaning program stops short because the battery is fully charged?

Did you press the right button for the cleaning cycle? two possibilities large button and the small. One is for quick clean. the other is for complete clean.

Panasonic ES-LV81 electric razor with self cleaning recharger won't go into clean cycle only dry.

If you take the cleaning unit to pieces you will find a tiny microswitch that detects that the cleaning cartridge is in situ. This switch is fed by 2 brown wires. The microswitch is prone to get water on it and then malfunctions. Unless you are adept enough to find a new one and fit it, in my opinion the only way around this problem is to snip one of the brown wires and re-assemble the unit.
Effectively this is overriding the units ability to sense that the cleaning cartridge is in position!
As long as you remember to NEVER run the unit without the cartridge in situ, the wash and dry cycle should work fine.

Best Regards.

Ian.

Can't get the 7526 cleaning arm to stay down on the shaver for charging, cleaning, etc. Is there a sequence e.g. hold the arm down then select a cycle, or select then push down? What is the blue button...

The locking mechanism in the arm is broken. This is a common problem with your model. To repair it you will need to purchase a replacement part. You will find the part at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

Braun 8585 shaver, charges fine, cleaning cycle acting strange where it thinks the razor is clean, but it is not. When new it cleaned at some level every time put in the cleaning base. Now it very...

The problem is the base, not the shaver. Most likely, the circuit board inside the base has gotten wet and is damaged. If this is the case, it will need to be replaced. You will find a replacement at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

I replaced the cleaning liqud cartridge but it shows the red light indicating it is empty.

Hi,
here is the solution..follow the steps please..

Thanks in advance for rating me..Regards
------------------
  • Replace the cartridge in the base station and close it.

  • The indicator light should cycle then change to green. If it doesn't then unplug the base station, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in.
  • Press the lock button to clean the shaver. If everything went well it should start cleaning like normal.

    My 7526 won't clean cycle

It is probably plugged up at the base. Take the cartridge out and turn it upside down> next clean the openings with a cotton swab< it make take a while as it can get gummy> That should fix the problem

Base floods with solution during cleaning cycle

OK, Remove shaver from cleaning base. Raise top cover as if you are going to replace the cleaning cartridge. Now, look into the cleaning cup where you put the shaver into. You will notice a small hole on the bottom left side. With a Q-tip ,clean out the beard hair from the hole.If you have a model 5301 which is located on the bottom of the base, you should be able to push the Q-tip all the way through the hole. This will allow the liquid to flow back down into the cartridge. This is whats causing the overflow.

    Cleaning base

I have been shaving with electric razors for 48 years, and the Braun 8595 is by far the best one yet.
I have had the problem of the refusal of the cleaning station to recognize the level of fluid in the cartridge, three times over the last couple of years. It seems to relate to a build up of shavings in the unit. To get it working again I inverted the unit, and carefully flushed water via a small tube, back through the 1cm diameter hole in the underside of the open base. Of course, the unit must then be thoroughly dried before use, or the sparks may fly. Does anyone know how to dismantle the unit for a safer and more thorough clean?

    Braun 360 Cleaning base

When you are looking top down into the cleaning base you want to look to the left side of the hole where you put your razor. That is were the solution drains out after your razor is cleaned and there is probably a blockage there. I used a toothpick to clean mine out every once in awhile when gunk would build up there.
