Cannot get any text indications on handset screen so that I can set up the menu(s). Replaced the battery pack when unit died after receiving a full day's charge, but that did not restore ability to access the menu option on the unit handset.

First of all, I didn't have a cellular phone problem. I had a home phone, walk around phone handset programming problem. I use the Premium Assistance Option that put me in contact with "experts". The outcome was that I knew just as much as they did and had already accomplished the know fixes. The net result of the session was that I did not get my problem resolved. The session was a waste of money. I went to the manufacturer for technical assistance and got results.

I have just inherated the at&t e5634b phone system. I have replaced the batteries in the hand sets. As per the manual I have de-registered each hand set. The problem is that when I register the...

This problem can be caused by the following, A bad battery, (which you say you are all new). A full base memory and a Faulty main base unit
This main base unit can only expand to four handsets and no more. If the base unit has been reset then the assigned numbers for each handset would begin with " handset 1" if they show any other number when reset then it would not have been reset..To re-set main base you will have to
De-Register All Handsets
Unplug the power supply from the base unit then Remove all handsets from the charge cradles and base then Press and hold the PAGE button on the base.
Plug in the power supply again while pressing the PAGE button, Continue pressing PAGE until the IN USE and CHARGING indicators are lit. (this could take up to 10 seconds)
Release the PAGE button All Handsets will display "enter base id".
If this does not solve your problem then you will have to replace the main base

Uniden 5.8 cordless phone - replaced batteries, but now the phones don't ring....help?

up to five handsets each will need to be properly adjusted. You may need to set the main handset to synchronize with the base unit plugged into the telephone wall jack and assign special configuration numbers to the other handsets in order to properly identify each one within a specified location. One handset left in the turned on mode may make it impossible to place calls with the any of the other handsets. This will continue until either the battery dies or fails on the handset or the phone is switched off and replaced in its charger for charging again. Synchronize the main handset by pressing the MENU button on the handset, then pressing the down button IN order to select the number you wish to assign to that handset. Repeating this process if you have already done so will greatly decrease the level of errors experienced with panasonic phones.

It beeps and dies

Yes even if the Battery-low indicator does not light. There may not be enough current left in the battery. it may depend on how much talk time is expended after each full charge. For a phone of this vintage I would get a new battery or upgrade to a 5.8 GHZ phone. Check first to see if the charging light comes on steady when the handset is on the base and no tarnish or debris is on the battery charging terminals on both the handset and the base unit. Clean them with a soft cloth to make sure.
