SOURCE: PT-50DL54 panasonic 50" DLP
This also worked on my Pt-52DL52 Panasonic also by pushing the Blue action button on the remote and the volume down button on the TV. But first wait until the replace bulb warning light is off, then do it.

SONY IS INVOLVED IN A CLASS ACTION SUITE-problem is a bad light engine-check into this on the web-check your model number to see what they are willing to do.
IT IS A COSTLY REPAIR IF YOU HAVE TO PAY A TECHNICIAN

Sounds like a filter plate inside of the Light Engine may have shifted out of place. Best course of action would be to either contact a service company. If you want to repair it yourself, the PN is: 263223. This part will need refurbished by a company such as PTS Electronics, as they are no longer available. You would have to remove it, then ship it to them for repair. You are looking at +$700 for this service.
