Take a good picture of the mainvboard and post it so we can see it. You may have bought the wrong type of video card. There are generally two. AGP or PCI. If you got an AGP and your computer is PCI, it wont fit, so dont even try. IT may say on the actual sytem board ( AGP) next to the slot or (PCI). There is the new PCI express kind also, you need to determine first, that you bought a compatible Card for your PC. If you have the Manuals that came with it or the specs page that list what it came with, it may be on there. Bassically, you install it, turn it on, and run the setup disk to load the drivers.

Take a pic of the Mainboard and of the front box of the Video card and post it and i can tell you if its going to fit, make sure the pic of the mainboard is close up and clear so i can see what port type it has.

Also, if it doesnt have the ability to upgrad it and there is no slots and no port on the pc, then your stuck and wil have to just bite the bullet and get a new PC. I would recomend start researching now, and always keep reciepts, in cas eyou have to return something because its not compatible.

I want to use second screen with nvidia 7100 onboard card and nvidia g force 8400 can it be done

Nvidia will tell you not to mix video processors. They can not be connected in SLI mode. I would remove the 7100 and run dual screens on the 8400.

Hi. I was buying HP Pavilion slimline 5310sc and want to put a new graphic card in it, to play games. What cards would fit best? Bjarki

Graphics cards are of many companies. For my opinion, Ge-force and N-vidia graphics cards are best. 512 mb graphics cards are well for playing games. As your need of gaming, buy high capacity graphics card as 1 gb or 2 gb.

My graphic card wont support the games with it's requirement also

Have you tried replacing your monitor or lcd with a higher resolution or configuration? If not please do so. Because even thou you have a high graphics card but your monitor or lcd does not support your hardware requirements, it won't work at all. Try using an LCD with HDMI port or a higher model of LCD that are applicable in watching videos or playing games.

GeForce 7200 GS 256MB won't work with tv

"the tv works and I can see my extended desktop, but ONLY in 800x600!!! Also when I tried to watch a movie on the tv, it only showed a black block"

1. Tv's only support max of 800x600 (technically less)

2. Windows has a built in ANTI theft BS protection that makes viewing video through an alternate output show up black boxed.

Installing new graphics card need to know which one I need

I'm sorry but you won't get any decent graphic card for this PC. There is integrated intel graphic card and only expansion slots are PCI.
Currently produced cards are mostly PCI-E, you may find some older with AGP however they are rare.

Added a ge force 8400 gs pci grfx card to hp a6120n monitor

Alright, let's give this a shot. Your system can handle it as the card only needs 71W of power.

Right-click your desktop and go to properties.

Screenshot.

Afterward select the tab at the top reading, "Settings."

Screenshot.

Now select your new video card in the, "Display" region and choose the device to be your, "Primary Monitor."

Screenshot.

Afterward try plugging the monitor into your new graphics card. It should work just fine.
