Question about Samsung ML-1640 Monochrome Laser Printer

We have a new printing cartridge but the printer print very faint. We have taken the cartridge out and shekd it, but it remains the same. The printer is less than a year in use Please help us

Why dosesnt my printer print even though i have new cartridges?


Sounds unlikely but somteimes they sell defective new cartridges. Look for original packing, maybe still in your wastebasket, and verify expire date.

Faint grey printing


According to the service manual for problems with light print image, the cause can be the Developers or High Voltage Power Supply (HVPS). Other possible causes are given as: Developer roller is stained when the toner or developer cartridge is almost consumed. Ambient temperature is below 10 degrees Centigrade. Bad contacts with the HVPS or abnormal output from the HVPS. To replace the Developers you would need to purchase a replacement Imaging Kit CLP-R300A. Any problems in the HVPS would require a factory repair.

Black printing very faint or not at all, cleaning print head makes little difference Brand new Cartridge


Sometimes it will print faint black even if there is a new black cartridge, because the color cartridge needs to be replaced as well.

Make sure that the cartridges are genuine Kodak cartridges, as well, for maximum performance and reliability.

Cleaning heads can use up a lot of ink, by the way.

try adjust the toner aditiute by going in to the printer properties. adjust to 3 if posible and do a test print. If the print out is still faint. try update the firmware of your printer by going to www.samsung.com

Black Ink won't print

Only half of the page is printing, the rest is so faint it can't be read. I've tried changing the ink cartridge although the one in use is quite new. However with the new cartridge the same thing happened....


try to print the test page from the printer only not from your pc.if the test page comes proper , then the problem is with your printer driver which you have loaded.uninstall the driver and reload it properly.
and if the test print from the printer does not come proper then its the problem of your printer's circuit board.it has to be repaired by a technician.

Hp 970Cse not printing correct colors


Get a new color cartridge or make color adjustments in whatever program you are using to get the printer all fired up. Scotto
