1 Answer

My Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 will not connect to my PC after I changed the batteries. When I place the batteries in the mouse, the battery light indicates green. Once the batteries are in, I switch the mouse on. I wait. The mouse doesn't move on the sreen. I press the connect button. then the light flash green, off, red, off, green, off....Any ideas on how to fix? I've gone thru several batteries, that's no the problem.

I think you should reconnect it to your computer. remove the device from your computer first and then connect it again

To remove the hardware and then connect it again in windows 7:
I have the dutch version, but i will try to translate :)

Go to start > Control Panel > Hardware and sound
Once you're there, go to devices and printers.
You should look for the mouse, right click on it and then
    ?remove device?

When it is removed, you can click "add hardware". When you clocked on it, the computer will search for hardware that is not yet installed. make sure that you hold the connect button on the mouse until it flashes red and green. when the computer sees the mouse, click on it and it will install automatically. Once installed, the mouse works again.

altough this is for Windows 7, it looks a lot like windows vista.
And sorry for my bad English.
    Good Luck!

SOURCE: I have a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 and i need to change the battery. I cant find any latch or button to open the mouse to put new batteries in it! I looked on the MS site and found nothi

There is actually no release button on my 5000. Between the white on-off button and the bluetooth synch button there is a finger notch. If you put your index finger in the notch (pointing toward the base of the mouse you can put your nail under the lip and the batter compartment opens right up. There is a horizontal slot in the battery cover - trying to pry that open does not work. The whole thing is well-cloaked but surprisingly easy when you figure it out!

Bluetooth Notebook 5000 Mouse will not connect. The green light comes on and then goes off. The bluetooth light on the laptop is on. Just changed the batteries. What to do?

You may just need to re-PAIR it. You need to press and hold the Pairing button until you get a solid blue light then it is in pairing mode, you can then discover it on your laptop and complete the pairing.

How can i remove the battery of my microsoft mouse 5000

I found this page about that particular mouse: if you look at the images part way down the page (may have to scroll down a bit) the middle image is of the bottom. There is a little trap door for the batteries. There is a little catch you just push on the release and the door opens. Very easy.

I put in new batteries but no luck. No lights go ...

Answer:
With the buttons toward the top:
The top LEFT slider button is for power. Slide toward the outside for ON. Light on top of mouse turns green after about 1 second, and stays green for about 10 seconds (assuming the batteries are okay). When the batteries are failing, it blinks red.
The top Right PUSH button sends a connection signal to the PC. When pressed, the indicator light on the top flashes green and red, indicating the special connection signal.
This is the mouse side of the equation (good batteries, slider turned on, connection button pressed and released.).
NOW: the PC must have a working receiver, with drivers installed, and Bluetooth software installed. it sould detect the mouse. If it asks for a passkey, say none (mouse doesn't need passkey).
You should not need Microsoft Intellipoint. it doesn't have a configuration for this particular mouse model anyway.

Good Luck!

Red and green light flashing of microsoft mouse 5000

Hello,

The first thing that I would advise you to do is,

Uninstall the Bluetooth Adapter driver totally from the System first,

Then go to "scan for hardware changes",

This will bring up a prompt to install the new hardware found (Which is your Bluetooth Adapter).

After this, Press your ON/Off button on the mouse and ensure that it is On, then try to use it again.

It should connect like that.

(In case you dont know how to uninstall the Adapter, Right-Click on my computer Icon, Properties, Device Manager, then select the Adapter under bluetooth/network adapters, and right click on it, then select uninstall.)

Hope this helps.

Goodluck

  1. Press and hold the Connect button on the bottom of the mouse. If your device has a battery indication light, it will blink and alternate between red and green to indicate that the device is discoverable.
  2. On the computer, open the Bluetooth software. The Bluetooth software is typically located in Control Panel. For more information about opening the Bluetooth software, see the "How to open the Bluetooth software" section.
