One of the buttons at the back of the camera, on the right of the LCD panel, second from the top is the timer activation button. Press it, and choose the relevant option on the screen (I think there's a 2 sec,10 sec and off).

If you're referring to stopping the countdown after you've pressed the trigger, turning the mode dial stops it. Eg., if you're in P, turning to Av or "Portrait" etc stops it. Then disable timer as described above.

Have you checked your remote
control if you have accidentally set the
timer off to turn off one hour after
turning it on? Seems like the problem because the
timer LED is lighting up means that the
unit has shut off via the timer. Verify the remote if there is a timer
setting on it. If you would not
recognize it, try to remove the battery
for about 5 minutes, return the
battery, then just press the on and off
switch and put it in cooling mode and observe if it did correct the problem.

DT11 timer turns on aplliance but will not shut it off.

1) DT11 is older timer, and may be may be copied by foreign manufacturers. Timer has 1 year limited warranty.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-timers-and-manuals.html#DT300

2) Don't buy timers from ebay or local drug store.
Don't buy used timers.

3) DT11 timer may not be rated for appliances. Usually this type timer has rating for 600-1200 watt incandescent bulb, and will overheat and fail quickly with higher load, such as appliance load.
Buy Intermatic appliance timer for appliances:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-timers-and-manuals.html#appliance

4) Always reset timer before programming.

5) Review programming for conflicts and overlaps that would cause timer not to function as expected.

Bosch 2.5 gl water heater does not work. there is power to the unit but not action at switch or themostate. is there a high limit switch that can be tripped and rest and where is it

Ariston 2.5ga reset button is located on thermostat.
Following image shows location of reset button:
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/Bosch-Ariston-reset-400.jpg

Open following link for Bosch troubleshooting resources and link to your manual.
Read manual entirely to empower yourself and to avoid-anticipate problems.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Bosch-Tankless-water-heater.html

Manual says:
Occasionally, the high temperature limit shut off device may trigger and shut the
system down. This occurs when water temperature exceeds 190° F and shuts off
power to the heating element. The shut off device may also trigger from a power
outage or electrical storm.
To reach the thermostat:
1. Pry off the round cover plate (V Fig. 3/1) from its right hand edge (W Fig. 3/1) with
a small flat-head screwdriver.
2. Remove the Phillips screw revealed beneath the round cover plate.
3. The cover (C Fig. 3/1) can now be removed by pulling out its left-hand edge. When
reassembling, work in the opposite way being careful to insert the tongue of the
cover into the slot.
4. Firmly press reset button (B Fig. 4). Reconnect power.
5. IMPORTANT: Check the operation of the thermostat, turn temperature dial from
high to low, if the red light does not go off on low setting, turn off power supply and
call a service person to replace the thermostat.
6. If the system works, place dial setting to desired setting. Note: a lower setting is
more economical and reduces the risk of scalding. Replace cover plate.
CAUTION: Call a technician if the high limit needs to be reset frequently.

Intermatic Digital 3-Circuit Timer Mechanism P1353ME i want to change the cycle times for my 2 speed pool pump. i want to run the high speed from 9am till 1pm and the low speed from 1pm till 5pm.

Same answer applies as one sent earlier.
Take some time and read answer, or re-post question and pay for interactive answer with fixya expert who can walk you through the steps for a price.

1) You have P1353 timer.
This is a complicated timer for beginner because timer can be set up many different ways for multiple operations.

Open following link for manual: The manual is a large file and may be impossible to download on dial-up.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-trippers-and-parts.html#P1353
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Intermatic-P1353-manual.pdf
Smaller manual is available but some pages are turned sideways which is not so handy.

P1353 instructions start page 28 of larger manual.
Manual is longer than space allowed for free answer, so we can work in stages.
At any time, you add a comment and I will respond -and/or send a photo of your wiring, etc

1) You want Mode 2 so low and high speeds are not turned ON at same time.
2) Wiring requirement: High speed is connected to terminal 3, low speed connected to terminal 2 as shown in fig 4-4 > this is where you can send a photo or add a comment and clarify how your timer is wired.

3) Page 30 goes through steps for setting the mode. Remember you want Mode 2.
4) Page 31 shows how to set current time of day.

5) Page 31-2 shows steps for programming each circuit.
Assuming that your wiring matches fig 4-4 mentioned above:
High speed is circuit 1
Low speed is circuit 2

Once you digest this information, it will narrow down the questions and I can answer those one at a time with more detail if needed.
Or you can re-post a question and I will probably catch it.

How do I get the intermatic dt27 timer to work with out astro? I set it for an event, but it still uses the sunrise/sunset operation.

This manual is a bit confusing because it jumps across steps without telling you.

Look at manual instructions above Fig 11 where it says "Programming ON/OFF event times without astro." This is where your instructions are.

But let's start back at Fig 6. Setting DST
I think the instructions jump from DST at Fig 6 to programming at Fig 11

DST says:
If you want timer to compensate for DST, the display automatically defaults to AUTO.
If you do not want DST, press SET+ or ENTER/NEXT and display reads MANUAL
Then it says: Press MODE+ to go set up ASTRO feature

But you don't want ASTRO

I think this is where you by-pass ASTRO completely by pressing MODE+ until the screen looks like Fig 11 below:
d506e70.jpg

Now you are at programming steps to right of Fig 11:
EVENT1 shows in screen
-Press Day to set days > you keep pressing Day to show M-F, Sat-Sun, or individual days
Then use SET+ and SET- to set ON time for EVENT1

Press ENTER/NEXT to go to EVENT2
EVENT2 is OFF time for EVENT1

Tip: Other intermatic timers ignore all Events that conflict ... so you might make on-off chart before programming

After EVENTs are programmed, press MODE+ to go to AUTO

I have the DT620CL and want to disable the Dawn and Dusk settings.

See "Changing Program Times--Skipping and ON or OFF Event" in the attached manual: http://www.intermatic.com/~/media/files/intermatic/products/instructions/timers/dt620cl.ashx
Find the Dawn or Dusk program time and follow the instructions in step 5 (Turn the selector knob until SKIP shows
in the display and “-- --” replaces the
time (Fig. 17), then press PROG to accept
the new setting.)
