Question about Dell 924 All-in-One InkJet Printer

Open Question

My Dell Photo AIO Printer 926 will not print.

When I power on the printer I get message "clear carrier jam and then press check". Have cleared all paper. WHen I hit the "check", it looks ready to go but when I print it displays "printing" but never prints. Printer is only couple of years old with little home use. My daughter has same printer with same problem. Tried sending a test print page, printer says printing but never prints. Try to copy, display says coping but never creates the paper copy.

SOURCE: How to clear carrier jam in Dell Photo All in One 944

simply open up your printer and see if there is any residual paper that get stuck, in some case if you can find some small miniature piece of sensor it might cause a erratic sensing that there is a presence of paper while there isnt, try to clear this or clean.
paper jamming indicator means there is some paper in the paper path, unless otherwise ou clear this up you cannnot print.
after you may need to power down or restart your printer once again
cheers

SOURCE: Dell AIO 924 Carrier Jam Problem

To clean the encoder strip, perform the following steps:

  1. Power down the printer and unplug the power.

  2. Lift the cover on the printer.

  3. Using a dry, lint free cloth, pinch the encoder strip on the right-hand side of the cartridge carriage and pull your fingers across it toward the right-hand side of the printer99d8177.jpg

  1. Plug in the printer and power it on.

  2. Open the cover to allow the cartridge carriage to center itself.

SOURCE: paper jam on Dell Photo 926

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Error message clear carrier jam, when I opened the top of the Dell Photo 926 a long clear strip fell out, What do I do to fix this.

The long clear strip is the encoder strip that the cartridge carriage reads to know where it is in the printer. It should not have just fallen out. There should be a small hole at each end of the strip to attach it to points in the printer. If one of those holes is broken you might as well get a new printer. Paying someone to buy a new encoder strip and install it will most likely cost more than the machine itself.

Not working see bottom

Check your entire feed to make sure there is NO paper jams. Sometimes even the smallest little piece of paper can get jammed up and can e hard to see.
You can also check your manual for diagnostic mode and alignment print page.

Won't copy, error message 2200 pops up and says to check manual. Manual doesn't reference that error message.

Try this - turn off the printer.
Remove the power supply.
Press the power button for 15 seconds.
Then plug it back in.

That should've cleared the printer!
