Question about Minolta magicolor 2400W Laser Printer
I have a much used 2400W. Recently is has a strange fault and refuses to print. The error light flashes, and the red Status screen says 'Put Cyan Toner' (it has also said put black toner), but the supplies status says 100% for Cyan (I know it is less than that), the toner replacement light is not flashing.
What's going on - is it the end??
Any help gratefully recieved as this has been a damn fine printer and don't want to give up on it!
I think someone touched on this solution briefly, but here is how you fix the problem.
Clean the 3 copper contacts on on the green chip with an eraser or rubbing alcohol. The chip is on the right side of the cartridge. You will probably see black lines on the contacts. This will fix the issue about 90% of the time.
If it doesn't work you want to clean the chip reader. This is the switch that CCSStech was talking about. It also sits on the right side of the printer almost under the toner cartridges and has three prongs sticking up. Clean those prongs with alcohol. If that doesn't work replace the switch. If you are using refilled cartridges, the chip on those sometimes doesn't work. In that case have the manufacture of the refill replace the toner for you.

Order a new "Button", the small part that has 3 contacts that touch each cartridge as they rotate by. It is a small black switch that can be easily accessed by removing all cartridges. It pops out easily, be carefuld not to damage the wires that attach to it. I eventually solved it in 2 ways. Firstly it needed a damn good clean. There was toner everywhere and I think it was on the electrical contact bits (that's not a technical term) between the toner cartridges and the printer. It was getting confused and kept thinking it needed more toner.
Ultimately the best longterm solution was to buy a nice new magicolor 2530DL as it uses the same consumables. It was only when I stripped the old one for parts that I realised how dirty it was - so get cleaning!
New printer is great and so far behaving perfectly

I am having a similar problem. I replaced the fuser unit on my printer and it starts going through the warm up then it flashes error constantly. There is no jam and the jam sensor is ok.
