Try to connect your laptop in your router via lan cable..use your lancard..use a utp cable.. if it does not work it mean you have a problem in your internet connection not on your laptop..but if it connects it means you have a problem in your wi-fi connection...

i hope it solves your problem....rate this if this solved it,..

Hello nanpw,
To reset your router to factory, take a paper clip and press the reset button. Hold it for about 30 seconds or until the lights on the router flash. open a web browser and type 192.168.1.1 username is (blank) password is admin then run the wireless setup utility, after your laptop is connected its always a good idea to include security.

Is this the first time you are trying to connect to your Internet with that Toshiba laptop?

If that is your first time you need to call first your Internet Service Provider and check what can they do for you.

If there is no problem with you Internet Service Provider, try to press the FN+F8 keys these are the toggle keys to enable or disable your Wifi.

When you press those two keys observe the laptop if you will have a message that says Wireless Connection is On or Off. If it is off, try to press those two keys again to turn on the laptop.

I believe your laptop came with a Wireless On/Off switch, check that also if it is on there will be a light indicator for the Wireless Connection. It should be a steady light.

Now, if the wireless connection of your laptop is on and still you can't connect to your wireless connection, try to update the drivers for your Network Adapter.

Here's the link for the latest driver:

You need to search for your operating system and choose the Wi-fi on all categories.

You need to save it first on the laptop and after that you will have an option to run it on the laptop. After the installation of new driver try to restart the laptop and try to connect to your Internet.

If that will not work.

You need to contact Toshiba technical support at

Hope this helps. :-)

I am unable to connect with my wireless laptop

With an Ethernet cable, connect the "wired" port on your laptop to one of the "wired" ports on your router.

Access the router's built-in web-server, and run the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard", to configure your wireless network.

Call your ISP (Internet Service Provider) -- if they provided the 2WIRE modem to you, they can help you configure it.

Unable to connect to internet when setting up new laptop

Hi...yes, he will need an ISP if he wants to access the internet from home. But he could also use a public wireless hotspot, or borrow your connection (if you're willing to let him!) - at least until he has set up his own. Mobile broadband is also an option.
Hope this helps

Wireless router says its working laptop says no its not

Your sister was accessing the wireless access point at school which is connected to the Internet/WEB access via a router and the school's broadband service provider.
For you to access the Internet using your wireless adapter on your laptop, you need your own wireless access point and connect it to a broadband ADSL or cable modem and then connect it to an Internet Service Provider. Some Internet Service Providers (cable and ADSL) can supply a combined modem/router/wireless Access point.
If you already have a broadband modem all you need is a wireless access point/router. You only need to configure the wireless access point and your wireless adapter so they will communicate with each other. Folow the instructions in the manuals.

Need a wireless router for my talk talk broadband

You could use any brand wireless router with your broadband service for a wifi signal for your laptop or any wireless internet to any device that is compatible for it. You first need to make sure your laptop has built in wireless or if it needs an adapter(ex. Wireless notebook adapter, USB Adapter). and if its built in then all you would need to buy is a wireless router(Linksys has a really nice and user friendly setup. Model:WRT54G).

So are you saying that it's not showing any network on the view available network screen? What is the message on the screen?

What is the model and brand of your wireless router from talk talk?

Its possible that we may need to check the wireless settings inside the wireless router. Provide me with it's model no. and I will look for a solution for you.
