Question about Sony STR-DE685 Receiver
One of the speakers has been shorted out, causing the amplifier to attempt to pass very high current. A protection circuit stops it doing this, and usually shuts the unit down.
Take it to a local hifi shop, and they'll be able to sort it out for you. There's usually a small fee involved.
