I would try a different card if you have one. They can fail. If the card slot on the camera is bad then you will want to contact Olympus as they typically offer two years on camera bodies if you have registered your product at time of purchase. Failing that, try one of the Olympus XD cards in the other memory slot as an alternative to repairing camera if warranty is expired.

Hello. I have a Fuji FinePix s9600. When i was inserting the USB cable to connect it to my laptop, the built in USB slot fell back into the camera. Is this something easy to open and repair - assuming that...

There is not magic door to open and pop this back into place and it should go to a service/repair person. However if the camera is still operative you can purchase a Card Reader to do your downloading to the computer. The card reader uses the USB port of a computer and you simply remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into the reader. The computer then looks at this as an external hard drive. My work flow is making a folder in "My Documents" plug the memory card into the reader and then transfer all the picture files to the folder I just made on my computer hard drive. When I open them in a image program I just select file open select the file I need and open it select the picture and carry on. This totally steps around using the camera as a download device. Card readers are anywhere from $10.00 through to $35.00 depending on which one you buy. Single readers are less money while the multiple card readers get a little pricey. Which ever one you purchase it will be a lot less expensive then getting the mini port fixed on your camera.

How to install kodak easyshare camera 8.25 megapicxel type in a computer so as to copy photoes taken

There is usually 2 ways:-

1) Connect the camera to the PC via a USB lead, there may be a driver (software) required which would be on a disk which came with the camera. Your computer would generally ask for this when you connect your camera and switch it on.

If after a couple of minutes, your computer says nothing, Click on Start - My computer and look for a new hard drive or mass storage device. This will probably be you camera, double click on the icon and any further icons until you see your photographs. Its then a case of copy and paste to a folder on you computer.

2) You may have memory card slots on or can buy a universal memory card reader which connects to your pc again via USB cord. Take the card out of the camera and put it into the correct slot on you card reader. The rest is the same as connecting your camera.

Please note, always copy and paste your photo's first then delete them off your card afterwards, if something goes awry during the copy process you could lose photos.

Transporting pics

Easiest way is to take out the CF card and put it into a USB card reader with a CF slot.
You can then just drag/drop files from the camera card to your PC.

If you have taken RAW files only you will need to convert the pics to JPG using the canon photo professional software.

Try reformatting the card. Use your camera to do it, not a computer.

Look in the card slot in the side or around the edges of the opening to see if you can find a switch or little button or anything that could be stuck or broken. This is the sensor that tells the camera when it's open or not.

Card Error

then it is safe to assume there are no images on the card. But to be sure go to www.convar.com and download PC Inspector. Install the program. put card in the slot and run the programs- if there are images on the card this program will find them. Saveany to a folder then take thae card out and format it in the CAMERA and only ever format it in the camera.
