Are the buttons functioning correctly? Can you test them doing something else? If they are working correctly then your camera has a more serious problem and likely now not worth repairing against the cost of replacing.

Hi Keith, The link below is the user manual for the Pentax Optio E30 Digital Camera, On page 56 it says
• In Green Mode, you cannot change the information displayed on the LCD monitor by pressing the 4/W button.
• You cannot use the [A Rec. Mode] menu or Capture Mode Palette in Green Mode. If you try to display the [A Rec. Mode] menu or Capture Mode Palette, - (key lock icon) appears.
• If you switched to Q mode from Green Mode, you cannot display the [H Setting] menu by pressing the 3 button. If you try to display the [H Setting] menu, - (key lock icon) appears.
• When the camera is turned off in the Green Mode, it turns on in the Green Mode next time the power switch is pressed.

The memory card on my pentax optio camera is locked. a yellow key appears. i found the display showing the key but cannot find the function to unlock it

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Hi i have a pentax E30,after taking a picture it says the card block and does not show the picture taken it will also say the is no image

Hi,

Do you know that the SD card has a little switch on its side?
It is a small sliding thing on the other side from the cut out corner.

If this is in the lock position it will stop you saving your pictures to the card. This is to protect pictures that you want to keep.

To save pictures to the card the switch must be in the up position.

you must unlock the memory card, take out the memory card and there will be a little switch on the side, move the switch to the opposite position and the camera should work just fine, if this doesn't work, let me know
